Great hostel overall! Wifi is on point, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of chill spaces and very close to bus terminal and most other things. The breakfast is very under-whelming so don't choose it based on that.

Besides the broken strainer in the kitchen and only having really hot showers, I can't seem to find any reason why someone wouldn't like staying here. Maybe that and the people that smoke near the reception desk.

Dont stay here! Bed bugs! One of the staff (possibly the owner) was very rude and didn't make us feel welcome at all . The Showers were hot which was a + and the kitchen was okay. The pool was gross and small. There are way better options in town

I'm only reviewing the porch and the laundry service. I stayed at another hotel in Cahuita but needed to do laundry. They did it for a fair price and let me hang out on a hammock until or was ready. And sold beer at a very fair price.

Great staff, super friendly and doing absolutely amazing job on keeping this place as it is.

+ Free pancakes (you just have to cook them) and coffee available every morning!

Thiefs and Mosquitos everywhere in the rooms without nets around the beds, you get extra charges for absolutely everything. Want to use the shower 1 min past your 10am check out time its $3. Accidentally leave a fan on when you leave $5 Also the people there are unhelpful especially when we had our clothes stolen off the washing line. We asked if they could help us look incase the cleaner had moved them. And they refused. Unsafe and uncomfortable place.

It was a nightmare!! The hostel is okay. 8 person dorm with 3person bunk beds. But the staff there see not the person, they see running dollar signs. Unfriendly as f and try to get your money where ever they can. I was there for 2 nights and they tried to get more money than normally like 5 times. I talked with other persons and all had the same problem.
I wouldn't go there again, because they don't deserve the money. Please be more friendly to your guests and stay fair with them. Don't try to steal money wherever you can.
Never again.

*Hakuna Matata ist right off of where the bus from Limón stops. The hostel is not of a big kind but exactly what I was looking for. I spent one Friday night in a 6 bed dorm (beginning of November which is rather off-season) with 5 beds occupied.
*Room was clean and equipped with lockers (you have to bring your own lock) big enough for a 30L backpack. Bed width were rather slim but I fitted perfectly fine (not tall female).
*Showers were clean but I still preferr d wearing my slippers. Water was warm and cold. Showers were mixed.
*Kitchen was equipped with everything , no seasoning, no “free box”
*Staff was super friendly and helpful, as much as they could help.

CAHUITA is the most amazing laid back beach town I have been , it’s safe , people are tourist oriented (yes that means they are ass friendly but also charge an extra 10% service on your food but many also speak English). Prices are generally higher than an average town in CR. Casados were 3000- 4500 colones (average is 2200-2800).

Exxagerated prices for nothing. Rooms are stinking and are not clean at all. There is swimming pool, in our opinion useles if you have ocean nearby. Breakfast is possible for 4 dollars, not included in accommodation price. For 35 dollars per night really big dissapointment and it is a pitty because the village itself and nearby national park are beautiful.

Very cool relaxed vibe. The staff is great. The rooms are fine. The mattresses are a bit uncomfortable, however overall this place is great. Communal kitchen is available, clean pool. Right next to the bus station and bank which accepts VISA cards

Definitely the best hostel in Cahuita, price is great and the layout its very natural, pool is very clean. Stuff is nice and helpful. Wifi is ok. Location is super because is next to an ATM, Store, Market, and buss station.

If you enjoy a room that smells of urinal cakes, has a fan that grinds metal and metal but still manages to barley cause a breeze, does not have hot water despite advertising so, has no internet in your room only beyond slow net in the common seating area and a morning guy who is obviously not interested in being the least bit helpful then this place is for you. If not stay away. The afternoon guy is an absolute jem who is helpful and crazy nice after one day we just only went to him for anything we needed to know and the guy they book tours with is awesome so even if you don't stay here go here for tours.

Got bitten very badly by the mosquitos/bed bugs. No mosquito net, even slept with cover and still got bitten so I suspect there were bed bugs as well.

Stayed 2 nights here and absolutely loved it. Staff was friendly, nice, and helpful. We got a great deal on a private room - the same price we would have paid for a dorm. Tons of space to chill out and relax, visit with other travelers, etc. The pool was great!! The community kitchen was awesome - it was cleaned daily I believe - the trash was changed each day and the towel/dishrag was changed. The showers could have better water pressure, but for hot water I won't complain:) The owner (I believe this was the owner of the property or at least one of the hosts who live here) came around to everyone one night offering fresh homemade pastries, they were SO good! Overall we had a wonderful time here, Cahuita is so quaint and mellow. The people are great, the vibe is great, and I recommend this place 100%! We will be back someday!
