We absolutely loved our stay in one of the villas at Espadilla Ocean Club in Manuel Antonio. The villas are in a great location with direct beach access and being walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the National Park. The units are sort of funky in design, but all completely functional and interesting. The air conditioning worked great, the splash pool was refreshing, and it was great having a kitchen to cook our own meals. Also, the people managing the place were excellentshowed us around, had the A/C on when we got there, gave us good dinner recommendations, etc.

I also think these villas are perfect for a family vacation. Great having more than one bedroom for some privacy and having all the conveniences of home in a kitchen to prepare meals when desired.

We arrived at EOC in the evening after a loooong, hot, almost miserable bus ride from San Jose. (It was our choice to take the public bus. In hindsight, an air conditioned taxi or the 20 minute Nature Air flight from San Jose would be our transportation of choice). Brooke and Fernando met us on arrival. Before saying goodnight, Fernando said, "Tomorrow you will wake up in paradise." HE WAS RIGHT!
We stayed in the "fire" villa. It feels FAR more spacious than 800 square feet. We were 4 adults and 3 children under 5. Not once did we feel crowded. It is beautifully designed for comfort and efficiency. The splash pool just outside the sliding doors was perfect for our needs. The children spent many, many hours in the pool, while we relaxed on the deck.
When we weren't relaxing by the pool, we were sunning under the umbrellas and body surfing/ boogie boarding in the surf, which, by the way, is bathtub warm!!! And it is 2 minutes from the gate of our villa. PARADISE! One morning we woke up to a troop of cappuccino monkeys playing in the trees.
As if that isn't enough, we were graciously taken care of by Shelley and Bobby, and Fernando and Brooke. They checked in with us daily to see if we needed anything, and cheerfully and knowledgeably answered any question we had about anything regarding our stay,getting around, and things to do. You would be hard pressed to find anyone more genuinely warm and caring. They have a perfect blend of being nearby and available when you need them at the same time respecting your privacy.
EOC is conveniently located near shopping and restaurants - an leisurely 15 minute walk along the beach - 10 if you walk a little faster. The Manuel Antonio National Park is just a little beyond that.

We are pleased and eager to give our highest recommendation to Espadilla Ocean Club.

Fantastic week at the E.O.C !!! All the staff and employees were friendly and quick to assist in making our stay perfect. This is the place to stay; great service, accommodations and a fantastic beach.

This place is in an amazing location! Short walk to the ocean to relax, or boogie board - literally 2 minutes. A short stroll down the beach takes you to several restaurants and the Manuel Antonio National Park. I can not begin to say enough great things about this place, it's clean and Contemporary. The concierge/owners Shelly and Bobby are super nice and very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience we can't wait to return someday!
