The best restaurant in Punta Islita! The atmosphere is great! You feel like you are a guest in Miguel's house. The food is delicious and the menu changes every day.

I don't really post directly to Facebook, but I came just to comment. If you've made it this far, just put your device down and come eat here. It was very good. You may be reading this from Punta Islita, the hotel transportation will bring you here.

    If you're coming for dinner

Small plates, when we went there were 6 menu items, we had 4 of them and they were all good. You're probably looking at 2 plates per adult.

Plan to stay awhile, it took us 90 minutes for dinner and dessert

Our 3rd grader gave it five stars

    Genuine vibe

We will eat here again, at least once, before leaving the country

We played foose ball while waiting, which was a hit with said 3rd grader. There is also pool.

These guys are authentic as you'll find. Hell Mom showed up to help with dishes while we were there.

If your in the neighborhood at 6pm, come for dinner, you won't be disappointed if you are willing to try new things and order from what is offered.

Amazing fresh tapas highlighting local ingredients. Miguel was a highlight of the evening, which is saying a lot because the food was top notch. Live music capped a perfect evening.

Not the easiest place to find but worth the trip no matter where you’re coming from. We’re staying at Isilita Hotel and have driven up and down the coast from Playa Garza through Samara and Playa San Miguel and this place is by far the best food we’ve had. 10x better than anything we had in Samara.

We didn’t find a lot of local cuisine in this area so finding Don Ramiro’s was a real treat. Can’t recommend this place enough. Seriously, you won’t regret going!

Yummy!! Hands down this was the best meal I ate in Costa Rica. The food was simple, well prepared and absolutely delicious. Compared to the hotel food and the other small restaurant in town this is definitely the best!!

Fantastic experience that I can’t recommend enough. Great food and great service. The owner even ran (literally) down to the market to grab a local beer he was out of that night.

An unexpected treat! Miguel is a tapas wizard and a master at the bar. We had the added treat of guitar music including a perfect "Happy Birthday" to me.

We had a dinner one night and were very disappointed. Food portions were so small that we felt still hungry after the "dinner". Extremely expensive for what Don Ramiro has to offer in terms of food, ambient. Never again.

If you've read my reviews - you know I tell it like it is - so here you go
Wasn't sure what kind of food choices to expect in this remote area of Costa Rica. With few restaurant options - you hope for the best and go with what you get, right?
Who would have guessed - out here in the Jungle - we'd be treated to such a culinary experience. No menu. Miguel just served up his recommended bocas (tapas). The selection of fresh Costa Rican dish had a great balance of textures and flavors.
Great that guests of the Hotel Punta Islita has this place down the road.
    I highly recommend it.

We absolutely LOVED dining at Don Ramiro’s. The food was delicious as were the drinks. Miguel is a master of all talents- food, drinks, service, business- he does it all. He type of person who radiates “I️ love what I️ do, and I️ hope you love what I have to offer.” Can’t wait to go back. The ambiance is lovely.

Don Ramiro is truly a hidden gem in the sleepy town of Punta Islita. It's a beautifully decorated family owned little restaurant. We went out fishing earlier and Miguel, the chef/owner/bartender prepared our catch. Everything prepared was simply delicious and the service was beyond our expectations. If you're vacationing at Hotel Punita Islita, take the time to enjoy dinner and drinks off the resort. You will not be disappointed.

We loved visiting Don Ramiro's last summer. Miguel was a creative and gracious host, and he and his entire family made it a memorable evening. The tapas plates were all good (I think we tried them all) and we can't wait to come back again!

A great place for some local flavor. The family that runs the restaurant is wonderful and outgoing, and the food is unique and flavorful. Definitely worth a visit if you're staying at the nearby Hotel Punta Islita.

Miguel is a terrific chef with personality to match. Don Ramiro is relaxed, fun, and great place to be. If you stop in be sure to say hello to his Mama. She's a sweetheart.
