Great place to stay. Quite and cozy
Lovely and quiet place, the garden is beautiful. Staff was very very nice and helpfull from the booking to the check'out. We had a Large bungalow with kitchen, it was really good. Coco-Lodge is close to the city-center and shops, you can also go to playa negra by walk. Safe feeling inside. Very good quality/price rate !
Coco Loco Lodge is a very well maintained property in Puerto Viejo, beautiful gardens with giant trees surrounding the bungalows throughout the lodge, an easy three minute walk to the Caribbean Sea or the village.
The village gets loud at night with people partying and having fun, the lodge is a welcome retreat from the noise.
Coco Loco has a misting apparatus that we found extremely refreshing the mist also attracts the birds and butterflies, nice bonus!
Originally we booked seven nights at Coco Loco Lodge before a one month trip to Bocas del Toro, Panama, with the remainder of our trip, the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. We loved Coco Loco; we altered our plans to stay at the lodge another fifty days. Way Cool!
Our new friends at the lodge Sabine, Manolo, Ángel, Veronica, Martha and Aryeri, are Gratitude and Thanks. We will be back! Pura Vida!

Staffs were nice. Quite good location. You can reach restaurants by walking. Big supermarket and bank is near. Just bed was little bit small and mosquito net(?) was not so useful because it was quite small.
Great place to spend sometime in Puerto Viejo. Staff is very friendly. Place is clean and beautiful.
Beautiful, cozy, friendly and clean with very reasonable prices!
Stayed here for 10 days. Superb team, and a stunning place. The gardens are full of birds and you are only a 5 minute walk to town. Very peaceful. Problems with WiFi at times, but they gave me a discount to compensate .
Beautiful, lush, well-taken care of grounds, modern private bungalow (as "modern" as you'd want a tropical bungalow), great staff, 5 minute walk to town on a safe road. Stayed here 8 nights and loved every day of it. The owner, originally from Austria, built the property out of jungle 25 years ago and made it - in my opinion - one of the very finest resorts in Puerto Viejo. If you book with her directly, and pay in cash, she'll give you a generous discount on the room rate. No risk in paying cash. Again, she's been at it 25 years and isn't going anywhere! All pictures are mine.
Alles super.
Great quiet bungalows with helpful staff and away from local traffic. A bit far to local beaches, but they rent bikes for $8/day and there are taxis that go to Punta Uva for $5 one-way.
I have stayed there a few times before, the hotel is nice. But this last time I went, I forgot my phone in my room at checkout and I am positive the housekeeper took it. She couldnt even look at me in the eyes when I asked her. I talked to the owner and she was obviously on the houskeeper's side. They didn't look too concerned about finding my phone. They just took me back to my room to look for it, but it was obviously not there anymore. Not staying there anymore. It would be a different story if management was more helpful. I can't stand dishonest people. I could care less about my phone, but I had all the pictures I took during my trip to Costa Rica. Puerto Viejo was my last stop.
Great place!! Quiet and beautiful!! - no pool and not right at the beach, but really close to it and very comfortable.
