Went on this tour with our 10 & 14-year olds who didn't want to leave Costa Rica without a boat tour. I don't do a lot of boat tours, but a tour we had done in Hawaii a few years ago was significantly better.
This boat tour seems to focus on the slides, free drinks & alcohol and lunch they serve, rather than the actual experience. We did see several dolphins out in the ocean which was nice (and they of course can't predict what's going to be out there), but the most disappointing part of the tour was the snorkeling.
They dropped us off at a place close to the harbor that was beyond boring. There was literally no visibility under water (maybe 3 ft tops) and the only thing we saw were a few yellow striped fish. The fish were very friendly for sure, but I personally would have expected more after enduring 3 hours on a boat that played loud music almost the entire time. The snorkeling spot was also crowded from another one of their party boats and a bunch of jet skis as well. I mean just actually seeing beyond my hands would have been fun.
Given the amount of pollution in the ocean nowadays (we saw several plastic bags floating far away from land), I was also shocked that they don't have a covered garbage bags and give away snacks that are wrapped in plastic. I found a few pieces on the ground on the boat and don't even want to know how much of it ends up in the ocean. I really don't understand how the people running this aren't more conscientious, considering that the ocean is their business.
The staff was very nice, as is usually the case in Costa Rica, but I would not take that tour again. I think you're better off hiring a small boat with somebody that knows where to drop you off for snorkeling.
Oh, I did like the hibiscus tea/juice they had.
It is incredible! The staff goes out of their way to have you comfortable and enjoying the ride. The food was delicious, the drinks were great and everything was plentiful! I have done other cataraman tours and this is the one I have liked the most! Totally recommended!!!
It was a beautiful day in a pristine place, we saw many dolphin, sea turtles and many bill fish breaching the water. Our chef prepared us a delicious lunch. The only thing we caught was a Amberjack but the trip was amazing, we left with a dolphin for the next evenings dinner.
I think it would have been fun to go on the Ocean King if they had ever come to pick us up from the hotel like they said they would and we didn't wait in the scorching heat for around an hour while we tried to contact them and they never picked up the phone. We booked them through another company which we booked several tours/experiences though and had no problem with so I do not think it was their fault but it could have been some fault on with the communications between companies. But they actually picked up the phone and were able to help us figure something out as opposed to the Ocean King guys who never picked up the phone. This especially sucks when you only have limited time in Cost Rica and you are not really able to afford, time wise, to try and rebook something like this.
If you want to party on a boat with really loud music and alcohol, this is the trip for you! I expected something else though, and wanted to relax on the sea, see some animals and enjoy a relaxing sunset.
The bus picked us up at 1:30 and the boat was scheduled to leave at 2 but because some people were stuck in traffic we had to wait on the scorching heat at the marina for 30 minutes. After that we went to the boat and were allowed to get some drinks but we had to wait another 30 minutes. In the end we left and hour later but were still back in the marina at 6.
The food was okay, and you could get endless non-alcoholic drinks. We were also served pineapple and watermelon which was nice. The staff on the boat was also friendly, but the guy who took and sold pictures was very pushy and obtrusive.
We stayed close to the shore, so we had some very nice views of the coast and the Manuel Antonio park. I'm rather prone to seasickness, but the sea and the boat were really stable so it didn't bother me at all!
This was one of the highlights of our vacation. My 12 year old son loved the water slide on the back of the boat. One of the aspects of this tour that we loved was the food and drinks served during the cruise. The food is fresh fish or chicken, cooked rice, and fresh vegetables, everything is prepared on the boat which makes it even better. They had a large variety of drinks all of which were delicious. We highly recommend Catamaran Manuel Antonio.
The best Catamaran tour in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica! We loved our trip on the 50 ft Catamaran Boat for the afternoon sunset tour. We were picked up at our Villa and then driven to the Marina in Quepos where we were greeted by the staff and taken to the boat. From there the adventure started and it was so much fun, we would like to recommend this for anyone looking for a fun boat tour.
My husband and I really enjoyed our 4 hour sunset cruise on the ocean king! The service was phenomenal-the staff was very professional, brought drinks to you, accommodated English and Spanish speakers, and were very kind. We got to see dolphins, snorkel, enjoy the boat ride, eat dinner, sip on drinks, and experience a gorgeous sunset. The music was great too! Can be improved-by serving stronger drinks and better food for dinner. We highly recommend!
Wonderful day out at sea on the catamaran boat with Bryan and Christopher who were the best guides and made this activity the highlight of our vacation. Delicious dinner with a lot of options for drinks. The boat provides snorkeling gear for kids and adults. The company is operated by a local Costa Rican family who were all so nice and very helpful. We recommend using Catamaran Manuel Antonio.
They really try and make this a great experience for you, free drinks, snorkeling, a slide, lunch, it was really nice till my Dramamine wore off, it would have been nice if they offered some aboard for free. The bathrooms needed a little more maintenance. I wish the lunch would have had a few more options, I don't like fish or pasta salad, so I was left with fruit.
Thank you all at Catamaran Manuel Antonio for a great tour. We loved seeing the dolphins up close and the view of the Manuel Antonio coast is absolutely beautiful.
Booked the afternoon tour on the Sailboat called Camaradien and it was a wonderful tour from the pick up being on time to the beautiful sunset, it was well worth it. I highly recommend using Catamaran Manuel Antonio.
My son had always wanted to see dolphins and we are so thankful to the crew of Catamaran Manuel Antonio for a wonderful morning tour where my son got to see many bottle nose dolphins.
We reserved the 50 ft Catamaran Boat for a private sunset tour for 24 people and all we can say is the service was outstanding. The company is runned by a local Costa Rican family and they were committed to providing us with the best experience. We are very happy and will come back on our next visit to Costa Rica.
Pas beaucoup de dauphin et pas longtemps, snorkel impossible, eau trop brouillé, nourriture passable
Our family of 18 booked the 54 ft Sailboat for a private coastal tour. We were served delicious fish with rice and vegetables. The drinks were very refreshing and the crew was super fun and great at providing information. Highly Recommend Catamaran Manuel Antonio.
We visited Manuel Antonio during the fist week in September and heard that is was Whale Season, so we booked the morning tour on the catamaran boat. The service was great. We saw humpback whales and bottle nose dolphins. We did snorkeling which was a lot of fun. We will definitely use Catamaran Manuel Antonio for our next visit to Costa Rica.
