Hard to put my finger on what exactly is missing here, but it is an upgrade over the nearby Hotel Sierra for just a bit more pricewise. I would have enjoyed more fans (or A/C) in the breakfast area.

Great resort, great employees super nice didn't fun of my pigeon spanish, super comfortable, awesome pools. Food is good cooked my catch for me. This is where I will stay when I go back.

This is the upmarket choice in Golfito, but they offered a reasonable rate at $95 per night in May (off season). Rooms were all exceptionally clean, the pool area is spacious with a lovely rainforest backdrop, and staff were very helpful. The only downside was that corridors and rooms are extremely dark. When coming in from the sunlight you literally cannot see to put the key in the door, and there is very little natural light in the rooms. They have so much space one feels it would really benefit from some more windows!
