  Quite an exceptional place for the area I think. First off, there is no air conditioning or breakfast. But these things are not promised. What you do get are immaculate grounds and comfortable cabins. And very importantly, friendly and helpful hosts. The location is about a 15 minute walk from the town centre and about 25 minutes to the national park entrance. As other reviewers have noted, the beds are perhaps a bit firm and the bedrooms a tad small (but there are two in the cabins). But these are small complaints for a very nice place to stay in Cahuita.

  Un excelente lugar para relajarse y estar en contacto con la naturaleza. Las casas son bastante cómodas y aseadas, los propietarios amables y siempre pendientes de ofrecernos un trato de alta calidad.

  We stayed last weekend at Casa Marcellino Lodge and had a very good time. Casa Marcellino is located in Costa Rica at the Caribean Coast in the township of Cahuita. The location is perfect, very closed to the beach, very closed to the center of Cahuita, and only 10 minutes to the larger township of Puerto Viejo south of Cahuita. Casa Marcellino has 4 Cabinas on the lovely property with beautiful gardens. Each nicely decorated Cabina has a fully equipped kitchen (if you want to cook your own food) with an open connected living area, 2 bedrooms, and a very nice large bathroom. When you sit on the nice terrace with a coffee in the morning or a drink in the afternoon or at night, you can watch an abundance of birds of all sizes and colors, flying back and forth in between various trees and bushes, to feed on berries, flowers, etc. One night we enjoyed a nice fish dinner (fresh fish from a local suppllier) at the rancho together with the friendly owners of Casa Marcellino. Marice and Luciano. At night, after a bottle of wine with good food, you will sleep like a baby because it is absolutely quiet, no traffic at all. We ejpoyed our stay a lot, and we will be back.

  Great friendly attention by the owners , well kept, little home away from home. If you want to go to the Sloth sanctuary or cahuita national park this is a nice place to stay
