I have taken several times Caribe Shuttle from Puerto Viejo to San Jose and vice versa and had always a good experience. The mini-vans are clean and normally they have WiFi. The drivers were always on time and were driving safely.

I am rather disappointed at the service provided by the driver in Costa Rica today. After dropping off all the other Puerto Viejo customers (except me), he went 30 minutes away to Cahuita and dropped off a couple. Then, as the only passenger left, I reminded him that my lodging is in Puerto Viejo. The driver then accused me of not speaking up sooner, and threatened to strand me in Cahuita instead of returning to Puerto Viejo.
I found this to be very unfair, since there was no way for me to know that a drop off would be occuring in Cahuita. Was I supposed to read his mind?
I had trusted the driver to be competent in selecting an optimal drop off route. To me, this is a fundamental aspect of his job!

On the Panama side the front desk lady is great. Right after that it all goes to hell. You have to fight your way into the fisherman's boat turned commuter and pray that it doesn't flip in the water. Maybe this is out of Caribe shuttles hand, but a little help figuring out what's what the first time is what I thought we were paying for.

We love Caribe Shuttle. Yesterday we had the good fortune to have Senor Jaun Lopez drive us from Playa Chiquita to San Jose. He was an excellent driver with a great disposition. Thank you Juan and Caribe Shuttle.

My wife and I use the caribe shuttle from Puerto Viejo to Bocas Town and back. The driver drives like crazy but safe at the same time. They helpt us with going thru customs at both borders. Good service.
Be prepared that the drivers drive like Tico's ;-)
It's maybe expensive but it is much faster than public transportation.

Fast & Farious

My husband and I took this shuttle from Cahuita to San Jose. At the same time we had 3 other passengers. The price is reasonable $100 US for two. The van and wifi was great. We stopped for lunch after 2 hours drive in a nice restaurant.
The driver was crazy. We avoid the crazy bus driver (the reason we took this service) but we ended up with the same one. Speeding and aggressive al the time. Somewhere in San Jose we almost got an accident. Our van following truck really close and fast, but when the truck is turning right, the driver didn't slow down or stop until last minute when 5 of us starting scream, then he stopped. And when he apologized he said "I need you guys to arrive at the airport fast". We didn't need that if we arrived at the airport not in good condition. Too bad this great company has this kind of driver that didn't think the passenger comfort.
