A wonderful place. The nature is magnificent, the beach is wonderful You can see many animals having a good time walking through the park. The path is easy and gives you many possibilities to meet monkeys and other animals. The sand is white and the sea is light blue It seems paradise. The best of the caribe

Nice national park, when if not one of the prettiest on on the Caribbean side if Costa Rica. We recommend to take an local tour guide, they can show you so many animals already on first few meters of the path. And take enough water and snacks with you. Depending on on weather's you can swim and chill on fine beaches too or even snorkel on the reefs (only with guide, but they will be so honest and inform you, when the conditions are the best).

Man I gave so much money to this place, it is a very linear trail, beautiful but still.. I like how the ants walk freely through the trail so be careful you don't stand on the innocent creatures! I go barefoot to truly feel the surrounding, and of course be careful you don't stand on a leaf cutter ant.

Great place to visit and enjoy nature. Nice walk through the jungle, lots of monkeys and sloth. Saw a racoon also. It's a very easy walk so can be enjoyed by families, young and old.

Great trails. It has a white sand beach and a black sand beach, the black coming from the active volcano ash in the area. Really cool! A must see! Great wildlife to with park rangers that will point you out the sloths and howler monkeys!

Highly recommendable doing a hike through the park! Don't forget your rain jacket and better take a guide they know a lot and you would not see half of the animals without the guide, as they know where they hide anf they can tell you something about the animals in general!

Pleasant staff, admission by donation, 8 km of natural beauty to observe. Lovely jungle path with beach access points marked for safety. We hiked one way and caught a bus back to town. Happy to have my water shoes and sun protection. Wish I had been able to stay overnight!

Great park! We visited frequently in our month long visit to Cahuita. Lots of wildlife, and nice treed areas by the beach to give you some protection from the unrelenting sun.

This is one of the best national parks in the country. Good beaches, beautiful scenery, and lots of wildlife. It's normal to see howler monkeys, white faced capuchins, lizards, snakes, and raccoons. Nice flat shaded trail to walk and enjoy all of this. Some picnic tables scattered along the trail where you can eat your lunch, if you bring it. Showers and bathrooms are available near the park entrance.

Loved my tour with Michael!! This park is beautiful and my amazing tour guide Michael made visiting this place a very nice experience. I was able to take my little cousins with me and they enjoyed seeing the sloths, monkeys, snakes, and different birds. They especially loved swimming in the beautiful beach there.

Great beaches and snorkeling. There are hauling monkeys, sloths and vipers. Depending on the day there are many turists. No cars allowed through the main entrance. The South entrance charges $5 USD per person but you can bring your car or bike 2km into the park to wonderful beaches. From the you can walk the park to Cahuita.
Entering the park by the main entrance is free (donations are welcome)

We we're happy with our park visit. Fee to enter is. Y donation, sign mentioned average paid was $5. It was a little sketchy because you just hand the cash to the guy at the desk at the front, but this is Costa Rica. Lots of wildlife to been seen. Our guide was a bit over priced (wanted $20pp, we paid $30 for the couple) but we would not have seen nearly as much without him.

Best national park yet in Costa Rica. A lot of animals and beautiful beaches combined. What do you want more? Also they just charge you the price you want to pay and no extra charge for tourists like all other parks! If you are close this park is definitely a must!

Gorgeous! Donation at the entrance (whatever you want) is WELL worth it. Go along the trail the earlier the better. It opens at 6am not 8am.

The forest is so beautiful and we saw so many animals that we went back the next day! The first day we got the extremely rare opportunity to hang out with a sloth that climbed down to us and sniffed and licked our fingers! It didn't seem scared at all (if it did we would've obviously left it alone). Don't count on them being close though, keep an eye on fur balls in the trees. We also saw racoons, monkeys, many crabs, many geckos, an iguana, a snake, pretty insects, an armadillo, butterflies and frogs. Look out for the monkeys throwing down fruit from the trees! And bring binoculars! :)

Stunning uncrowded park. Empty beaches and lots of wildlife (especially monkeys!) are abundant here. There is also no entrance fee although donations are encouraged. My advice would be to stay in Cahuita and walk in the park entrance in the morning. The walk through the park will take several hours. Once you are on the other end of the park simply walk out to the main road and go right. Go to a bus stop or just flag down the next bus that comes along. You can also wait for a bus that comes to the park but be warned that it's not frequent and stops running earlier than the main buses.

Great national park along the beach. There is no entrance fee except a donation and by walking 10 min max you will see an amazing fauna. The beach is also great with white sand and crystal clear warer. Only downside is that it is prohibited to snorkel by yourself and you need to hire an expensive guide.

Great place to enjoy the beach and see an abundance of wildlife. The main entrance asks for a donation while the entrance further south (which is less crowded) has a $5 entrance fee.

Awesome park! Joint-owned by the community and the government, you can tell that it is having a positive impact for the community. Definitely check it out. Donations are accepted. We saw all sorts of animals and insects, as well as enjoyed ourselves relaxing on the beach.

Beautiful trail, it is quite long and not fit for strollers or wheelchairs. I suggest reading lots of reviews to understand what you should prepare for. You don't have to pay for entry, but you can donate however much you like. A tour guide is available but also not mandatory. Bring LOTS of bug spray and sunscreen. Be ready for the tiny monkeys to attack you and try to steal your things. Some of the snakes are extremely poisonous and can spring up to 2 meters, so stay away from all the snakes just to be safe - we were warned by a guide.
You can swim in the ocean on many locations within the trail. The trail is muddy most of the time because it rains almost every single day in this country.

The 9km of trails was the most gorgeous I have seen yet. My girlfriend and I spotted 6 sloths, including an up close encounter with a momma and baby, 2 Jesus Christ lizards, oodles of other lizards, spiders, a monkey troop, blue crabs, hermit crabs, toucans, a long skinny fish, a snake, 7 raccoons, leaf cutter ants, and lots of birds we couldn't identify.

Secluded beaches, we'll maintained trails, boardwalks, rainforest Would fully recommend this to anyone, but don't forget your camera!
