This place is great! Definitly worth visiting! We originally planned to pass trough Puerto Jimenez briefly but we might as well stay a lot longuer since we discovered this haven!

Absolutely heavenly vegetarian and vegan food. Run by very knowledgeable local people.

Also have a perma culture project, short but muddy hike (excellent to spot wildlife) and luxurious cabañas. All very beautifully put together.

Charming, quiet spot on edge of Puerto Jiménez. Lovely hosts. Lots of wildlife around, including squirrel monkeys and macaws. Bit of a walk (15 minutes) to town or airstrip.

We booked this place because of the beautiful photos on the website and good reviews on trip advisor. Though we were disappointed. Indeed the location is great: nice looking wooden cabins in the jungle. And apes on top of the canopy. And walking distance to town centre. But we were in the wet season (although it only rained in evenings and at night) and we found our cabin very, i mean very humid.

Is was so humid that nothing dryed. Quit the opposite: al our clothes stored in the backpacks turned humid as well. More worse: the wood of the cabin seems here and there begon to rotten, and there is a fungus damp inside as well which irritated our nose and throat.

Because of the wood is rotten with some holes some animals come in (we had a bat, mosquitos and some huge crickets) so an mosquito net is usefull. Also there was no (optional) breakfast in this period.

Staff is friendly and helpful. And maybe things are much better in the dry season. For the wet season: there are much better places to stay in Puerto Jimenez for $ 60 a night

Patricia was a great host. She gave us a nice little tour around her property. The little cabins were so cute. Cacao monkeys is a little bit of paradise on the edge of crazy Jimenez. The breakfast Emy made for us was excellent too. It's a great starting point if you are heading out to Carate.
