We had a wonderful snorkeling experience.
Cano Island is really an amazing place to visit and to dive. Everything is beautiful: the forest, the beach, the ocean. We can see many species of animals (especially hermit crabs and fishes) and the environment is protected. There are many dive sites close to the island and they all are great.
So many beautiful fish, we saw sea turtles as well. Great visibility when we went. Only complaint is that we had to wear our life jackets the entire time which prevented us from diving deeper to see a little closer. Absolutely beautiful though. Would definitely recommend checking it out.
I had read many fabulous comment about the snorkling there. Ok I have done snorkling in some of the best place in the world (fiji island, indonesia etc..) but to my opinion this spot was not amazing. It might still be worth a visit but don't expect to swim in a sea of colorful corals. There are some fish, we also saw a manta ray, sharks and a turtle..
We got to see whales with babies, both jumping (not everybody is that lucky, but the people at the hotel said in August you definitely see whales). Good lunch (included), nice beach with lots of macaws. Guides were expert at finding the whales.
Good shallow diving, mediocre deep diving
Not much to do other than snorkling or diving. Very impressed by how the locals keep this place maintained and preserved. Other communities should take note!
Beautiful island. Unfortunately it's not allow to stay over the night.
Amazing for diving and snorkeling!
Eventhough you may only visit a very small part of the actual island it is still absolutely worth to go on a trip to Cano Island. You'll see sharks, turtles, dolphins and thousands of fishes through glass clear water.
Tranquil and beautiful. A great place to walk barefoot through the rainforest. Whales and porpoises nearby make diving great fun.
