We found this place on Airbnb and Kathy and Bernie are great hosts. We saw lots of wildlife right from our balcony including sloths, monkeys and toucans. The hot springs were great for relaxing in and the kids loved the slides in the big pool. It is out in the middle of nowhere but that is definitely part of its charm.

Kathy and Bernie are truly amazing! So informative and some of the best hosts I’ve ever encountered! This property is absolutely great! The photos do t even do it justice! You have to come for yourself to experience the magic of the jungle and hot springs

Amazing place to stay! The owners were kind, conscientious, and helpful. The pools were natural, in a jungle setting and well kept. The mariposa casita room was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable.

This is a destination in and of itself. It was lovely with local families and kids during the day, and quietly romantic by night. The kitchen is functional, and the bathroom nice and clean. No mosquito net was needed, as long as you leave the door closed at night. Beautiful hiking trail.

One highlight of our 2 night stay was we woke up the second morning to see a flock of scarlet macaws flying in to snack on the tree fruits.

Great place to spend the day with the kids. Very creative design. Authentic tico experience. We were the only ones speaking English. Forgot to mention it’s incredibly affordable…2 adults and 2 kids for $20 all day!

Magical place with great owners. I visited in November (rainy season) and mostly had the place to myself. Its a great place. I hope to stay in the one of the badass Treehouses next time

Wonderful place to stay.. We were really looked after.. We stayed in the toucan house and had lots of different toucans visiting the banana trees along the edge of the house. The house has a little kitchen which was great for preparing food we nought in the local supermarket. They also had a fabulous pool and slide as well as a number of hot spring pools to relax in. I would definitely recommend this place.

This place is magical! We had a hot spring all to ourselves in the rainforest each night we ventured down. Stayed in an amazing house on stilts, with all the amenities you need. The property is beautiful, the catered dinner is delicious and inexpensive, and the combination of rainfall and forest sounds had us falling into a soothing sleep each night. I'm going to miss being here.

The treehouse was absolutely the most amazing place I've ever stayed! I stayed with my wife and two friends. It was plenty of room for all of us but it was open floorplan, so only go with people that you are very close with. :) The hot springs were amazing, especially since many of them are open to people staying in the cabins or tree house.

I would go back there in a second!!! Also, staying at a place like this makes you a more interesting conversationalist at parties. I tell EVERYONE about the experience.

If you want to avoid hot springs for tourists, this is your place. Mostly locals come here, nice and friendly atmosphere and you will not be ripped off with costly entrance fees (we paid $6).

My family loves Bio Themales. We go every time we get the chance.. it's always clean and a very family friendly place to relax and wind down after a long day of work or play. The owners are great people and the folks that work there are just as nice. They do all they can to make your visit a real pleasure!
