This airport is a medium-sized airport but extremely clean. Very impressed with the cleanliness and its stores. I bought some Costa Rican coffee at a store there and it was very good. I should have bought more than a pound.
Good wifi.
Good airport.
Pleasant staff.
Smooth security, immigration, and emigration.
Expensive souvenirs.
Medium size airport. Clean and nice. Easy to find yourself once in. Majority of restaurants close quite early during the week so if you have late evening/night flight the choice is very limited. Be sure to reserve enough time to travel to and out of the airport as the traffic is crazy.
Great layout and easily accessible from San Jose, Heredia and Alajuela. It is always being improved. It's a bit small compared to other airports like Tocumen in Panama and the one in Lima, Peru. But bigger doesn't necessarily mean better.
I had an international flight and printed out my boarding passBIG MISTAKE. Apparently this airport doesn't allow that for any flights. We found out before entering the gate. After we got our boarding pass smooth sailing. Security there super fast. No problems at all. Staff was nice and friendly.
Great airport! Has business lounges. Has nice gift shops and a great food court. Strong security. Easy customs and easy parking outside. Easy airport arrivals and departures.
Nice small airport. Very nice service and people speak good English and Spanish. Don't have to look to hard to get help. Nice food court. Leaving the airport is a bit of a mad house, but it has always been this way.
Never felt so well taken care of. Plus the best price I could find
The airport itself is lovely. Getting thru security and passport control coming in was a little overwhelming. It was probably close to an hour standing in line. Leaving the airport is total chaos. There should be a better organization structure for shuttles, taxis and all others awaiting passengers. Departing flights, fast and smooth. Security was very efficient. Past security in the waiting areaslots of shops, food, duty free and restrooms.
The airport itself is well functioning and clean but the taxi drivers outside the arrival area will not let you alone even if you tell them you're not interested. Our original flight was delayed, and the counter was "closed" for this other flight we wanted to get onto, but the Delta employee gave in and got us in after much begging.
Any chance that this airport had of getting a good review was shattered after constantly getting harassed by the taxi drivers and car rental people and wifi hotspot owners. These awful people need a to be fined at least, and driven off with fire hoses if that doesn't work.
This is a truly happy looking airport. All of the shops are filled with colorful fun themed gifts and products. The terminal is really small but it has two bars that are pretty good. There are two sets of bathrooms, one by gates 1-4 and one by gate 12. It's easy to get around because it's not too big like JFK or DFW.
