The Secret Garden was nice but not your typical hostel. It's more of a guest house off of a residence. It is close to Villamaria, but difficult to travel to and from the house without a ride from the owners. Cab drivers are unable to find it without help from the owners. The address is not accessible by google maps. The home itself was nice. It was a bit rustic and had more of a indoor/outdoor living feel than home feel. If others are staying in the house with you there is not much privacy. There is a window in the shower that looks directly into the kitchen. If anyone is in there, you can see them and they can see you. Daniel and his wife were lovely hosts and were very accommodating about driving my boyfriend and I into the city (for a fee) and helping give cab drivers directions. His wife also will cook you meals if you order them in advance but it is more of family style than ordering from a "cafe." Overall, our stay was okay, but I would've preferred a more typical hostel and a bit more accessibility to the city.
