An English version of trafalgar Square. Very busy with people, alot of homeless people around so be careful if your travelling around with your belongings. I enjoyed looking at the different arts around. They also have people doing portrait pictures and selling many items around the area.

The sculptures are with a visit, the museum as well lots of street vendors, and street urchins so watch your stuff. In looked like a total gringo, but also had my head on a swivel and was fine, but this is not valid place to let your guard down

It's kind of worrying to be followed by different people asking you for money. I'd rather avoid it if you are alone. Just stay in groups and you will be safe. However is a beautiful place worthy of visiting.

    Surreal and Beautiful
This plaza is a busy hub of activity in the middle of Medellin. The Botero sculptures are surreal and beautiful. You are able to get up right next to them ! The plaza is filled with children and adults of all ages, and is a unique part of the culture of the city. Would highly recommend seeing it as part of the Real City Walking Tours of Medellin.

As someone who grew up here during the era of violence and stuff I was really blown away by how much the city had changed! I spent a couple hours in plaza botero and the plaza itself is beautiful with world famous statues and lots of flowers. There are cathedrals and churches that make it look very classic and beautiful. I was walking around with a nice watch and an iPhone 7+ against the warnings of many and never did I feel unsafe. Everyone seemed happy and there was plenty of police presence reassuring everyone that you can come here and enjoy the great views

A wonderful place filled worth Botero sculptures, delightful local hot foods and snacks and many street vendors of fruits, snacks, cold drinks, and souvenirs. Don't buy from the first street vendor you seelook around a bit, see what they all have and how much they are charging, then bargain with the ones that have what you like. 10-20% off is a typical negotiated price.

It is the place to go to see the big statues done by the local artist Fernando Botero, you have to see these larger than life creations.

The statues are amazing and the architecture of the huge church is something to see. Didn't go into Museum (18000 pesos ) but enjoyed looking around. Many vendors trying to sell you something so be prepared. Worth it just to see happenings going on in the plaza itself. Enjoy! !
