modern nice airport, easy to check in ,i arrived to airport with small bus from San Diego shoping mall and it costs only 9500 pesosleaves every 15 minutesvery good
It's a place with limited food options, high prices, and medium-sized spaces. You'd be here just to take your fight or arrive from it. Don't to stay long time, unless you have to wait for a flight.
Very far outside the city and not really good signs. It is quite difficult to find a screen with the gate announcements and it is fairly expensive to get there. Cheap ways are to take the bus or collective taxis to and from San Diego Mall.
Positive about the airport is the size and for national flights the quick procedures. Also food and drinks are affordable at the airport and WiFi is free (but not the fastest).
Airport has a very weak infrastructure but specially very limited options for food (in both domestic and international sides). Additionally, it is always very noisy, and sometimes with live music, so loud that it is impossible to talk. Very limited Vip rooms with only two from Avianca in the domestic side and one from Copa in the international side.
Beautiful airport. It isn't too big but is enough for supply some flights. The bad point is that the airport is very far from the city.
Interesting to read some reviews regarding Jose Cordova:
Location - yes location is 45min to 1 hour from Medellín - but many airports in the world are in the outskirts of the city (i.e. JFK, LaGuardia, Pearson etc).
Wifi - spotty but it's free. Have you been to Cancun - 50 Mexican pesos for 30mins.
Cleanliness - I found the airport very clean - including bathrooms.
Security - Colombia takes their security serious. If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about. It is what it is.
Immigration - both in and out is a breeze. Friendly and appreciative of your visit to this beautiful country.
Baggage pickup - quick!
Checkout - airline - I've used Copa, Avianca and VivaColombia - no issues on any of them. I will say English is spoken more with Avianca than the other two but then again your in Colombia - learn a few words in Spanish :).
Great airport .. easy to get through immigration.. ATM machine to change some money before connecting to Bogotávery nice restaurants to chill and sit. Not a lot of seating areas though for flight passengers. Bathrooms are clean and pleasant. The people seem to be very open and friendly We are and rested at Piccolo Pizza on the 3rd floor of the domestic (nacional) side and it was a great find.
About 45 min to 1 hr from Medellin. Average, reasonably clean, reasonably efficient, shops as expected, friendly people.
It's a nice airport that is not even close to Medellin city. It's actually far. There are some shops and cafés so you can grab something to eat or drink before boarding.
There is a bus to and from MDE from Cra 50a #53-13. Leaves Medellin 3am - 9:15pm and leaves airport from 6am - 12pm. Costs $9.500 COP. Careful at night because the area is sketchy.
Nice airport. Going through renovations and could be closer to the city. Don't exchange money here. The rates are really bad. Wait to get into downtown Medellin.
Pretty cheap ride to get to downtown Medellin granted you're sharing a taxi with strangers. Wasn't a hassle and didn't have to wait long to leave the airport. Where they dropped us off at had plenty of cabs ready to take you exactly where need to go.
