Beautiful location and close to Tayrona Park. But only Spanish is spoken, so come prepared.
Beautiful hotel in the middle of nature right by the sea. Common dining made us connect with the other guests, the food was excellent.
Awesome view on the carribean sea, nice beach altough not save for swimming.
I stayed several times in this hotel and the adjacent "Hotel Casa Barlovento". Both are wonderful places, especially this one which offered me unique and unforgettable experiences.
Unfortunately, there seems to be some internal miscommunication or conflicts between various stakeholders managing those two hotels which may affect the experience before and during the stay for some of us.
More specifically, be careful with the reservations as there are various websites and companies marketing and coordinating reservations in both places, which creates some confusion between official websites, travel agencies, hotel managers, etc some of them may book you in one hotel when you requested the other one!
In summary, expect the best but be careful with the reservations, logistics, etc.
First time being in a hotel so integrated into nature, but still feeling absolutely luxurious. Fantastic views on both the Carribean and a nearby river and mountains. Delicious breakfast. Nice little cocktail bar. Beautiful small private beach. This place is perfect for a romantic getaway.
We stayed in the Cabana overlooking the ocean. The beds we comfortable if not a tiny bit too small. The food was great, both nights we had something different. I'd happily stay there again.
A beautiful, cosy place to stay with spectacular scenery all around and helpful staff. Thanks.
Beautiful hotel, incredible landscape and very nice peoples.
Truly unique views
The most magical place ive ever been. Unbelievable views all around.
Amazing spot to get away for a couple days. Simple & beautiful. The gal that cooks for the cabanas is wonderful!
The price tag is not for everyone, but you get what you pay for: good service, great ambiance, breathtaking view. Room rate includes breakfast and dinner: both are good but a bit more variety would be appreciated. Both are served at a communal table. It was busy (while not crowded) during our stay, and it's nice to chat with fellow traveler, but if you happen to have it all for yourself, it will be even more magic. I definitely recommend to spend a couple of nights in this place. Ask for a room at the Maloka with river/sea view - I will be dreaming of those morning for a while. Contrary to what I read somewhere, they have WiFi (but it's a bit spotty, so come here to disconnect) and you can pay by credit card at check-out.
Know that the property is basically 2 different buildings; the Cabaña which is is most well know for is right on the ocean but honestly the building looks like it is aging fast and will need to be structurally re-engineered soon. The Maloka is beautiful as well (thats where I stayed). They do keep both areas clean and well furnished. My room had a queen & twin bed and with a beautifully finished bathroom. The common areas are great to relax, hang in an hammock, or chat with others who are here for a stay.
Location: is amazing and remote; I choose to take the local bus which was a fun adventure but left me with bags to drag down 500 meters to the house from the road. The Maloka is beautiful and right on the river and with some views of the ocean.
Wifi: Do know there is basically no wifi; they have a hotspot that is pretty impossible to connect to. Use this as an opportunity to de-connect; just wish I knew this in advance.
Staff: Marta and the other women who run the place are truly amazing and there to help you with anything you need.
Payment: They might ask you to pay in advance via PayPal as no credit cards can be accepted on site; COP is an option I believe.
I'd love to come back and stay for a while someday. Was a magical place.
