Pretty nice hostel. Felt safe inside the hostel, the surrounding area is not great at all. Guess this goes for the most of Cali though. Breakfast was included and very good! Bit of a party vibe but not in an annoying way. The rooms were clean but rather tight. Good showers and even a pool.

Cons: They don't let in outside Alcohol and charge really high prices for a beer.
Not enough toilets for the number of guests.
Music is constantly blared at volume 11.
    The freaking doorbell constantly rings.
    Pros: Great location.
    Good price.
    Pool.

    Pros
Great location; walking distance to cool restaurants and main tourist attractions. The ambiance is pretty chill. They have a couple of hammocks which was cool. Cool pool and bar area where really cool events take place (music bands, circus show). The staff was also pretty friendly and helpful. They have free breakfast (banana, toasts and cereal) which is better than nothing.

    Cons
Although the music is quite good, because all the private rooms face the pool and bar area, you do not have the option to not hear the music. If there is music playing, you will hear it. Because of this, it can get quite loud quite early. I'm not saying no music in the afternoon but maybe keep it low volume until the sun starts to go down. My boyfriend and I tried to take a nap at 2pm (with earplugs) and were awaken by the music.

Also, the private rooms are tiny; they could add space by removing the night table and installing shelves on the wall instead. The bathroom (mainly shower walls) could be a little cleaner.

    Overall not a bad hostel.

Pool was nice and private room was very good for a hostel. Unfortunately we were here during a public holiday so there were no salsa lessons.

The only reason my review is under an 8 is because of cleanliness (HostelWorlds own rating system) - other than that, everything was great! Lots of activities the hostel organizes, the pool & bar are a HUGE plus, super cool barrio with tons of restaurants & can walk to clubs and parks, the staff is nice enough. Easy place to meet people! The kitchen was kinda dirty & wet, & there are only 3-4 womens toilets split amongst around 80 beds. These bathrooms are hardly cleaned enough, was not pleased about that
