We stayed next door, and always appreciated the free hugs, but never came here until our third night. Drinks were delicious. We will be back tomorrow!

A great gastropub with delicious food and drinks and a great staff! Most importantly there is a really special, amazingly friendly and helpful owner here. He is very knowledgeable about the area and speaks perfect English as well. I wish we would have found this gem earlier on our trip, we would have gone here every day! The owner is the most kind and helpful person our group met in our trip to Colombia, and that is saying a lot because we met many people and we loved Colombia! Thanks again for your help, we went there in January 2018, and I should have written this review immediately after!

They give you a shot of rum with chocolate and an appetizer of salted sweet chilis on the house. Cocktails are very original and delicious ! Really awesome atmosphere.

Great service, great drinks, good food, and free hugs! What else could you ask for?! Highly recommended. We stopped by for a drink and stayed for lunch and many drinks, because the cocktails and service was sooooo good. They also carry a large selection of Colombian chocolates, Colombian rums, and Colombian liquors. Come here and you will not be disappointed!

Great cozy little bar! Stopped by this spot after dinner once seeing the Google reviews and it definitely didn't disappoint. I ordered a mojito and was given a little sample of sashito peppers and then later some rum with chocolate to taste. The rum ended up being so good with the chocolate bites that I ordered it on it's own as a drink. GREAT customer service here from the staff and from the owner who stopped by for a sec to chat!

Really lived up to the hype. Delicious food and unique drinks. Decent prices for the quality that you get. We went more than once during our 5 days in Cartagena!

I was in Cartagena for a conference in July 2017, and had a great time at El Arsenal! I wanted to put together a happy hour for a subgroup of the conference, and Abe was so helpful. A couple of nights later, I put a group together for a rum and chocolate tasting -- I can't recommend that highly enough! We had a blast, and the rum and chocolate (all Colombian) were fantastic -- a mix of shots, cocktails, straight chocolate and desserts. Abe was extremely knowledgeable and an entertaining host. If you're in Cartagena, definitely make time to stop by! You won't be disappointed.

Owner is awesome. We saw this place on Booze Traveler and had to find it. We did the "vape" it was a different experience. All the drinks were good. Best bar we visited in Colombia.by far.

Really great cocktails in a relaxed but chic setting. The main bartender is really sweet and makes a mean drink. Definitely dont miss this place.

Really loved the vibe here. Just got drinks - the black pudding was really good. They gave us some extras (two baby empanadas and some grilled peppers), and they all tasted amazing. Would love to try their food one day. The staff was also very friendly!

Fantastic Brooklyn style cocktail bar in a less expected place. El Arsenal features an innovative cocktail menu and the fastest WIFI I've experienced in Cartagena, staff were a bit inexperienced (in restaurants and English) did not immediately replace a spilled drinks but luckily the owner was on-site and took care of business B-)

I was recently on vacation in Cartagena. The rest of my group decided to stay in so I decided to venture out on my own. This bar has such a great environment that I couldn't walk past it. I am so glad I didn't! All of the staff was unbelievably kind, they even stand outside giving free hugs! The mixologists are very knowledgable and extremely charasmatic. I don't think you could find anywhere with better tasting cocktails in Cartagena(and I think I tested half of the bars in the city during vacation). This is definitely not a place to miss out on!

Truly world class cocktails. Impressive selection of rums. Staff is both friendly and educational. It is apparent that much thought and preparation has gone into each of their libations. I love this place.
