My experience at clinica santa cruz wasn't great. The clinica, from a patient point of view, has a lot to improve.
I came in for an ear infection. First I was send to the emergency room, something I felt was not necessary as I was willing to make an appointment for later that day or the next day. At the emergency room they asked for my passport, which I had left at the hostel, I was not allowed to proceed without getting my passport at the hostel. After paying a 100,000 cop deposit, I was asked to wait for about 20 minutes. I ended up waiting for over two hours. The doctor at the clinica was all right, although not very friendly. The thing that amazed me is that she prescribed me a shot of diclofenac (a painkiller) , which I refused as I was not in pain.
My advice for the clinica:
-don't put people who aren't experiencing am emergency in the emergency room. I had rather scheduled an appointment, and do not wish to take away valuable time of patients with a true emergency.
-don't send people back to get there passport in an emergency room.
-communicate the actual waiting time to the patients
-don't give pain killers before asking if the person is in pain
