fancy restaurant but nothing spectacular. 8f you're in Cartagena for the first time, I highly recommend going to a local restaurant to truly experience the culture
We ordered the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Really a lovely venue to sit in the courtyard and enjoy the night sky. Staff was attentive and things were timed well, we appreciated the English explanations. Would highly recommend the experience, but might just order a bottle of wine as the pairings themselves were not remarkable
Fantastic testing menu. Unique mix of indigenous and international ingredients prepared in contemporary styles. Great value for money.
One of the fancy restaurant in Cartagena so it’s more expensive obviously. Carmen In Medellin has always been recommended to me and people used to say it’s one of the best in the city. So I decided to try it in Cartagena but I was slightly disappointed. Service was great and food tasty but nothing crazy. The one in Medellin is probably better.
Lucaz Gallo!
Took my wife to Carmen while in Cartagena. The most amazing dinner!
Had the seven course meal and dined in the bar area. Watched the boys make spectacular drinks all evening.
Very reasonable and definitely on my top ten I have eaten at in the world!
My wife and I went here after another tourist recommended it. The food is fancy and does taste good, but the prices are a little high, and the portion size is small. The water comes in imported glass bottles which are delivered to your table without a top/cap. The waiter asked my wife if we wanted another water. When he brought it out, he requested that we pay him for it "off the books". He had some story about the bottle being leftover from another bill that was messed up earlier. The water tasted different and I suspect he filled it up from a faucet. You can't trust a place that doesn't open the bottle in front of you. I noticed everyone drinking water in the restaurant, had their bottles delivered with no cap. I think it's very possible they're selling city water in re-used glass bottles. At the end of our experience, we received the bill and noticed that a duck dish had been charged to us. This is something we never ate and it was quite pricey. We explained this to the waiter. He didn't seem surprised. He adjusted the bill accordingly. I just have a strong impression that this place is a tourist trap and they're using dishonest methods to get your money. Pay attention to your bill!
Nice restaurant but expensive for the overall quality, you can have delicious food for less
We arrived to this restaurant that a few people recommended to us. We entered the restaurant to be treated by blaring rap music. I guess they were trying to be "new york" and "hip". When no restaurant in New York would ever play such vulgarity in a restaurant. It felt like we walked in to a club. We were sat at a decent table inside. The decor was spartan and boring. They stripped the place of a colombian vibe to add cheap modern lights even the floors were hideous. If the owner doesnt have taste in style how could he in food? We sat uncomfortable listening to rap music and tooka look at the wine list. We usually will share a bottle of champagne but this night we decide on red for me and white for him. His pinot grigo was sweet but nice for the weather. I ordered the wrong wine a rosé on accident . I didnt care about paying for it like i told them but it took them 10 minutes it to remove it from the table. I asked for a dry red and i was either brought a glass from the cheapest bottle in house or grape juice mixed with alcohol. My mouth puckered at the sweetness from this supposedly dry red. I couldn't bare to drink it and didn't bother to order another glass as are service began to be rather slow. They congregated around there computer station and were not attentive. We were about to leave but we already ordered drinks and My boyfriend was hungry so we staid for this medicore service. The food came and im not a super picky person but alli could eat was the shrimp everything else on my dish was not eatable on top two soggy pieces of bread. My boyfriend ordered duck which he said was mediocre. We left completely dissatisfied and we have never complained about a restaurant like this. To put this in short.
This is a restaurant that people without money nor taste in quality would recommend.
Alma is a much better choice the lobster and duck there are fantastic.
Set in a cute courtyard with outdoor and indoor seating available. Decor is light and airy and staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. Had the lobster pasta app, the seabass, the tenderloin and the 5 ice cream sampler. All meals were exceptional in taste and presentation. My husband even mentioned it was one of the best meals he has had in years ;) resos definitely recommended!
Excellent restaurant well worth visiting. Don't miss fresh fish of the day and the bocadillo for dessert. Both plates are delicious!
Great service. Ordered the 7 course meal and was overwhelmed with satisfaction. Each meal was a surprise choice and each was unique and exquisite. Fully recommend as you will have a variety of flavors and mixtures.
If you have one night in Cartagena, eat here. Best meal of my life. We both had the tasting menu so we could try many things and loved every bite. We had an incredibly kind and knowledgeable waiter who spoke excellent English. The courtyard was romantic and elegant, so be sure to make a reservation in advance for outside! Absolutely incredible.
Really nice place, food is excellent and the people extreamly kind.
This was truly one of the finest dining experiences. Food was exotic, familiar, and amazing all at once. I didn't expect out of this restaurant or of Cartagena for that matter.
Best restaurant in colombia, the chief and the owner our so nice. Very friendly and accommodating stuff. Don't missed this place if you visit cartagena.
Incredible, the best meal I have ever had. Having been to Michelin star restaurants in italy. I did not expect much oh the food at Carmen, or Cartagena in general. I was absolutely stunned by the food and the drinks were even better. If you go here and get wine over a cocktail you are a fool.
Incredible experience today at the new moshi restaurant part of the equally wonderful Carmen.
I took the 7 course tasting menu as advised and I was not disappointed all the courses were sublime. They have fused amazing Colombian ingredients with Asia style and flavours.
I also have to say that the service here is the best I have had in Colombia, Very attentive. While your in Cartagena it's a must visit.
