I think you should go to this place just to go, but be aware that the 30,000 cover does NOT include a mojito as other reviewers have expressed, and the staff made that extra clear before I could even finish asking the question.

The band is amazing though. Sooo energetic and the lead singer didn't break a sweat the whole hour they performed! Drinks run about 20,000 per cocktail so I suggest grabbing a handful of beers at the corner store down the way to the right (where one Aguila only costs 2,500!) and start your night off that way!

Nice to go there, but be prepared for a busy bar! We did not experience any rip offs when it comes to entrance fees or drinks. All good! On the expensive side compared to the rest of the country, but so are most things in the city center of Cartagena

    Great ambiance.
    Great live band.
When playing pre-recorded, system speakers is terrible.

They charge 30,000 cop for cover charge just too get in but don't tell you the live bands are there only after 11:30 so we went in at 9:30 and the place was empty. The drink prices were ridiculous so asked for my money back which they did and left. Can't comment on the quality of the music since I refused to return after the initial deception.

30.000 to get in, 15.000 for a Club Colombia (overpriced). Cheaper free bars down the street. If you want a place to pretend like you’re in Havana or want a Cuban-esque band, this place is fine. The crowd is older and geared more towards groups and couples. I left after 30 minutes.

dont go if you are women going alone. I went with a girlfriend. They immediately assumed we wouldnt spend any money and told us we couldn’t have a table. Also, the staff is super unfriendly in a place where service is amazing literally anywhere else. Every staff member looked like they hated their jobs. I’m used to this in the US but was shocked to see this here. I understand it must be difficult to deal with drunk tourists but I imagine the management/ownership must be mistreating them in some way for them to be this bad. Tourist trap. Avoid.

Absolutely awful place. The only redeeming quality was that it felt like an old timey speak-easy.

As far as drinks they were very mediocre. Sweet, you can flip a glass around. How about making a good, balanced drink? Something that clearly needs work. Weak drinks, uncomfortable seating and a 25,000 peso cover for a "eh" bar

As a musician who's played music for 10+ years the music here was paltry. Never has loud music substituted for sufficient music.

Yes there were trombones, trumpets, and a drumkit playing. But the saxophone and the THREE singers were nowhere to be heard. I've had better middle school ensembles. Only go here if you can't appreciate good, balanced music.

To reiterate loud is not inherently good.

Very personal 'out- of- body' experience for me
That elusive Stendhal syndrome I did not experience in Firenze I did experience here: I was exposed to art/culture/society through osmosis. Lived, breathed and bathed in Colombia's Caribbean vibe through amazing music, lots of salsa dancing and a generous amount of mojitos ;-) I had a 'Kathleen Turner on "Romancing the stone" moment' there.
It was not Renaissance art but art nonetheless: exuberant, alive, overwhelming, conducive to hedonistic abandonment. LOOOOOVE this place!!!

Such am incredible night. There is an amazing live salsa band that plays really great songs. The people are fun and the dancing was some of the best I've had. I found a good partner. But either way it was one of the best nights we had in Cartagena. Classy. Clean. And I would definitely come back again.

Definitivamente uno de los mejores bares de Cartagena. Buen ambiente. Limpio. Y una banda espectacular. Salada toda la noche. Volveré cuando regrese a Cartagena.

Nice décoration.Basic cocktails not excellent. Music live, yes, but the quality of the sound is very bad, then you can't appreciate the musical instruments.
of course, there is friendly atmosphere, but this place doesn't deserve to be the number one in Cartegena

This is probably the closest things to one of the tourist bars in Havana. Great music and dancing. Expensive drinks. Touristy crowd.

For sure it's a must see in Cartagena, but really overcrowded. They for sure don't respect any logical limit. They only had mojitos Everything else in the menu was sold out even before the band start playing Dont expect anything besides good salsa music.

I know, you read snappy description of Cafe Havana and it sounds fun and unique. Skip it - it’s a total tourist trap, I promise. It’s overrun with suburban white women named Carol, Linda, and Pam, drinks are overpriced and borderline undrinkable.

One of the best places for salsa dancing, but it gets crowded very quickly. Good place to start out and evening to warm up before heading to another bigger club.
