Agree with LimEV it is generally speaking ok. The wide variety of breakfast dishes makes up for the small rooms. We booked a club room which was still pretty small.
The location although is great if you need to stay in the CBD

Some of the rooms are old and I've stayed here three times at three different floor and room. Sound insulation is not exactly great with thin walls. Breakfast spread is good though I always eat the same thing (on all visits). Gym is small but sufficient. There is a steam room, Sauna and a jacuzzi which are a big plus.

Points accumulation is via Golden Circle (Shangri-La).

Trader's Hotel is a lovely 5* hotel in one of the four embassy districts of Beijing, with huge rooms and pleasant service. Amazing and vast array of Chinese and International dishes on offer at breakfast, and the pastries transported you to France they were that good!
Only downside is that the hotel does not have a pool of their own; but you can use their sister hotel China World Hotel's pool which is through the mall.
Also, the hotel's exchange rates desk has some of the best rates and they do not change commission for residents of the hotel (banks and exchange bureaus charge commission and they don't have as good a rate).
The best hotel of our China tour - highly recommended and a great central location to get around the sites of the city.

Really loved Traders especially the breakfasts which had pastries to die for. Seriously the pain au chocolate was better than some I've had in Paris. The only thing I didn't like was the lobby which they used to spray with very aggressive air freshener that was so strong it gave me a headache. Guys lay off the air freshener and you'll have the perfect hotel!
