  The common area Is fantastic. The Staff is superb. The only downside is that the "6 bed dorm" is more a 10 bed dorm because there's not even a door between rooms. There's 10 beds and you can hear everyone.
  
  We would go back to this hostel.

  I loved staying at this hostel so much. I kept on extending my stay it was that good. When I first arrived I stayed in a private room which had a luxurious shower and facilities. But soon I made friends here and we all ended up staying in a dorm together and that saved some money. Also breakfast at this hostel is very delicious, and when I was there a stay in the private rooms came with free Western style breakfast (eggs, toast, etc). There is a courtyard you can go up to and I bet it's really nice in the summer but I was there in January. Very close to a metro station and ATM if you need it, just a little bit of walking. Located inside one of Beijing's famous hutong (胡同) areas.

  +Amazing atmosphere in the reception and lounge
  +Very friendly and helpful statt
  +Very cool guests
  +Good location for visiting both central axis ( Forbidden city etc. ) and the hip area south of the drum and bell towers
  + Very decent rooms and toilets
  
  - Expensive food
