The international arrival terminal was too small, I couldn't believe it's an international airport. The room height was less than 3-meters I think. Need many improvement in the cleanliness. But when I arrived in the departure terminal to my next flight, it way so different from the first one. Modern and spacious, and also clean. But, again, there's no Google or Whatsapp here so just stay on the airport if you don't want to get lost while you're on the long transit.

Great airport for changing the plane! The passport and security checks are quick and easy. If your flight departs soon, they send you to a priority line. Drinking water is available free of charge. You can even get hot water. Shops and cafes have ok prices, but still a bit expensive for Chinese standards. Some toilets have very sensitive flushing sensors, which would flush two times before you even take your seat. If this is a problem, you can simply go to another one located nearby. The airport is very clean and air conditioned.

This is a major hub and a relatively new airport. The reason I do not give it a full five stars is the distances one must walk on arriving to the airport. It seemed to be over three km so wear your most comfortable shoes as you will need them here. I was surprised at the speed of moving through the immigration station.

There were many stores and again to get to our gate was a long distance again. One problem is I became sick from one of the Chinese candies so beware. I did find that there were not enough bathrooms. On arrival it was long after picking up the baggage so make sure that your u use the bathroom on the airplane before landing. I can go a long time without one but beware and take my advice on this.

Visited the China Southern VIP lounge. Ok as lounges go but very limited on alcoholic drinks, one red wine, no white wine, one Johnny Walker whisky and on rum!! Good selection was better in the VIP half.

Really good time here. Had a short layover of two hours here. One of the most cleanest and organized airports. Staff were friendly, food was not overpriced and lots of places and to sit and wait that were clean! Definitely would come here again. If you are flying to china, with a connecting flight, you should land in Guangzhou!

Huge airport. We took the metro going there and it was convenient. Signage in English & it well decorated though some shops close at night. It's clean, has strong wifi but people just tend to sleep on the seats preventing other passengers to have a seat. Immigration was quick but beware of the long walk heading to the gate.

After reading some of the negative reviews I thought I would throw my bit in.

This is China. Please don't expect everyone to speak English or to understand your accents. There are more English speakers in China than in places like America. If you feel you may have a communication problem then why don't you download a translation app that works offline instead of moaning that people don't understand you.

Business Class facilities are fine. VIP/ Business Class check in fine. Staff are very helpful. Free snacks and food in the business class lounge are fine. I would not say it is the best airport in the world but as a regular traveller through here, I have never had a problem..

Be warned that during rainy season / Typhoon season, many planes get delayed and you may end up eating around the airport for a while.

Mostly cancelations will be late domestic flights. The international flights do not get canceled. Though you may find yourself hanging around for a few hours.

My wife and I caught a connecting flight here recently.
Baiyun is a large, busy air hub. The Chinese know how to organize people and transportation. Despite the language barrier, I did not feel insecure about my ability to get to catch our scheduled flight. Waiting lounges were adequately sized, and boarding announcements were clear. Customs screening was methodical and security was present, but not intrusive. Bathrooms servicing the waiting area were clean. Buses moving people to and from planes were crowded, but that's likely my western point of view talking.

Convenient for many parts but not so much yet. Foods I have tried are a bit pricey. Look for an orange juice making machine and you can have a cup of it. Delicious.
