Great artifacts here. Good Chinese opera masks. Very clean. Free entrance. Worth a visit.
Magnificent building. Great place to visit.
best place for visit.
Oh. My. God. This museum is HUGE and is amazing. Better than the National Museum of China, in my opinion. A short 5 minute walk from the nearest subway station, and the museum towers before you! The museum is so high, that when there is a lot of fog, the museum seems to "stretch into the clouds"! There is also a lot of parking too! Entry is free, and the staff are really nice! I forgot to bring my passport, but the lady at the desk helped me, and I got to go in! That huge black thing is an auditorium, which showcases movies about the history of Beijing. I really learned a lot! There are also tens of exhibits, from ancient jade sculptures, to artifacts from Buddhist temples. The cafe also serves tasty and cheap food (a buffet, to be exact). The gift shop is a bit disappointing, however, so sorry souvenir lovers! The museum also has a clean and modern design. A must-see in Beijing!
Free to tourists with your passport. There's tons of interesting exhibits to look at and the building is gorgeous.
Very nice collection, and really enjoyed the section about the hutongs.
Interesting exhibits featured. The main exhibit showcases the history of china through the relics unearthed over the years. Most of the exhibits are in Chinese though with few English captions.
The Capital Museum of Beijing is one of the biggest and most modern art museums in China. It was originally located in the Confucius Temple in 1981 and later a new museum was built in a different location and opened to the public in 2006. With its magnificent architecture, abundant exhibitions, advanced technology and complete functions, the Capital Museum contributes to Beijing’s standing as a famous historical and cultural city, a cultural centre and an international metropolis and ranks among the first class museums both at home and abroad and is regarded as one of the first “State First-class Museums” in 2008.
