I thought this place was pretty good. Great location with a bunch of amazing little restaurants and bars around. Love the Hutongs, have to enjoy them while they are still around. Yep sewer gas stunk up the bathroom and the rest of the place if you leave the bathroom door open. You will see roaches and some other bugs roaming around but be realistic and check your price point. This is very typical for this type of place in Beijing. If this is an issue than check the four seasons. Probably a 2 star in North America. Staff is amazing but English is not great. But again check your expectations. Learn a bit of the language and it will get you a long way. Wifi was killer and easily streamed HD. Got busier and it slowed down a bit but still very usable. Great value for what you pay. Breakfast was pretty good too.

Xiao Yuan Hotel, rather friendly place in a hutong street. Also the hotel is very close to the centre of the tourist areas.
