I stayed at Romandia for about a week. The hostel is a former mansion converted into a fine hostel. The owners and staff cannot do enough for you. It is very quiet, very clean, the guests are wonderful. No drinking, no loud noises, no drugs, no smoking inside, we can use the patio in the back. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

When a housing sanfu sent me searching for temporary lodging, I ended up checking in to Hostal Romandia. I was immediatley impressed by the converted Spanish colonial home. Every inch of the place was renovated prior to opening in September of 2008. The shared bathrooms (no private baths unfortunately) are all brand new and spotless. The common areas feature simple contemporary decor and the original wood and herringbone brick floors. The rooms all have new beds, crisp linens and simple, tasteful art. I had the single room on the second floor with a small balcony overlooking the quiet street. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The tasty breakfast, prepared by the nana, included in the room rate, featured coffe/tea, yogurt, toast, ham, cheese, juice and fruit. All in all, Hostal Romandia is a great place to stay for a good price in an decent location.
