Cafe Turri dining is excellent. I had the salmon ceviche and the sea bass, which both were fantastic. The wait staff was very friendly and spoken several languages to help any customer.
Besides the food, the view from the terrace is second to none of the hillside and city of Valparaiso. This will make it on to my recommendation lost for friends and family visiting in the future.response / report this review -

We ordered duck magret salad, coffee macchiato and a bottled water.
The coffee tasted like it was over-drawn and I requested another. The 2nd washer much better but in the interest of not being a pain, I pushed on and finished what can only be described as a dishwater coffee example of what a fine restaurant would serve. Any local barista would embarrass even the 2nd attempt I was given.
The salad was unpalatable. Strong odours from the onions and mushrooms that had a fishy aftertaste. We sent it back, and requested a different dish. We ordered the crab gratin aka Pastel de Jaiba.
It is billed as a Chilean classic. What arrived was a soupy mix of cheese and crab that looked and tasted like a dip you might serve as an appy. It was heavy on the cheese and light on the crab. Eatable but that’s the most I can say about it.
I realise personal tastes influence heavily reviews. Let me go on record by saying I rarely send anything back to the kitchen and due to work, eat out about 200 days per year. I can’t recall the last time I sent something back and I’m going back to 2014.
When I received the bill, I had suggested we pay for the cheese soup, coffee and water, but not the salad. The cheesy soup was barely eatable.
The icing on the cake was the manager insisting we pay for all the items! I told him I was being very fair by paying for the 3 items stated and described the poor coffee in detail along with my impression of the other items. He stood his ground as did I. I offered he could take payment for the 3 or simply the bottled water, which in fairness was good so I felt bad threatening not to pay for the water.
He finally relented and charged us for the water and the cheese soup. We paid without tip.
Needless to say, I can not recommend this cafe to anyone. Periodresponse / report this review -

Restaurant has a beautiful view of the water and port. We ordered the chocolate cake and coffees. Everything was declicous. Our waiter spoke English which was another plus.

If you force your customers to sign a legal document in order to take a sandwich home with them, it doesn't convince me that they have fresh and quality products.
This is something absolutely absurd and upset us greatly.

Beautiful view of the Valparaiso port and harbour. The construction right in front of it, obstructs some of it and is an eye sore. The food is very Chilean

It has a great view, good service and presentation of the plates are the best! If you are planning to go ask for Pil Pil Shrimp as entrance and as second plate Fried Congrio or the Tuna.

As tourists we stumbled upon this place, and found a gem. The food was delicious, the wine selection good and the service was wonderful, complete with an English speaking wait, which was very helpful.

Good food and fantastic view. It's expensive and only worth it if you are not interested in real Chilean cuisine, as many dishes are french. But since Chile is not know for coffee, this is a good place if you are craving a relaxed afternoon espresso with a view.
