I'm doing my year abroad here studying translation and overall the quality of teaching is very impressive, however they don't seem to be overly considerate of their students when it comes to term dates. For example, the Autumn term finished on 23rd December, meaning that a lot of people chose to stay in Switzerland rather than go home for Christmas as it was too far to travel so close to the big day. Then, they placed the exam period separate to the semester, so that students must fly back to Geneva for 10 days before having a month off before the start of spring term - making their year abroad incredibly expensive! For an institution with such a high number of international students, Unige is far from considerate.
