Lovely location with rooms overlooking a garden. Breakfast is substantial and varied. Service is excellent and responsive. Rooms are quiet at night for sleep.

I certainly loved it! I stayed in Small Charming Room. It's really small, but comfortably planned, and you have lots of thing to enjoy / like there, like Nespressi machine, wonderful shower, automatic small lighting Breakfast is wonderful.

Fantastic hotel - individual, stylish, relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff - great garden to enjoy a drink or to have breakfast - very close to the Station and Old City

Ideally located between the zoo and the old town, the hotel provided exactly what it advertised. 3 star comfort, friendly service, decent price. Little more to wish for, nothing left to be desired.

My absolute favourite place to stay when on business in Basel. The rooms are small to medium sized, but plenty adequate for business visits. In addition, the recent room upgrades are really special - Nespresso in-room, beautiful bathroom fixtures, wireless charging station in the workspace. The staff are awesome - I think they knew me by name after 2 visits, and I'm always warmly greeted even after what must be over 15 visits now.
The best feature for me is the dining area downstairs. In the morning, it's the breakfast room (and they will make you a lovely omelette, if you request). In the evening, it's a sort of common area, with: coffee, tea selection, cake, snacks (wasabe peanuts among other things), juice, soft drinks and wine. And it's free for guests. I love to spend the evening down there reading papers or books, or carrying on work (WiFi is perfect throughout the hotel).
Location is amazing too - about 3 or 4 mins walk from the major tram stop at Barfusserplatz, and all the shops and restaurants nearby too.response / report this review -

A 3star hotel with 5star service!! Staff we very friendly and helpful. Free drink and nibbles each day for guests and a good breakfast spread. There's a lovely garden for guests to enjoy out the back. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. We were surprised how quiet our room was even with the window open at night (our room faced the hotel garden). No parking on site but less than 200m away is public parking for 25CHF per 24hrs. Close to city attractions.

(+) Tasty breakfast but similar to what other hotels offer, price adequate to quality and room size, no good deal there, clean room and nice bathroom if you get a larger one
(-) Room cleaning starts at 7:30!!! and they knock at your door and wake you up! Hotel is very acoustic, doors are not sound proof and the noise is all around you. There is no AC in rooms, the place is useless in the summer. Some rooms are microscopic and part of the bathroom may be next to your single size bed. Too much dust on window frame.
All in all the place is good only when you get a larger room and not in the summer.
