Seems cheap in compairation to the hotels in the area, but as they charge 10% service fee automatically and parking fee as well at the end it is the same price. The service is very law, the furnitures and bedclothes are overused, the coffee machine and the fridge was wrong in our room. Not recommended at all.
Very good, clean rooms for the price tag. Definitely a nice place.
Wonderful place with wonderful Italian owner, who is also an excellent cook, so the food was delicious. Beautiful view and very quiet area. Close to train station (Tasch and Zermatt). Wonderful, clean air.
Pro:
- clean room
- nice location in the mountains and close to train station
- Own parking right in front of the hotel
Con:
- Tried calling the hotel 7 times between 4 and 8pm to arrange late check-in - no response
- got a tiny double bedroom instead of booked and confirmed 3 bed room
- Super small bathroom of 1.5sqm without shower tub so you flooded the whole bathroom while showering
- Personnel (family of the owner incl. 10yr old boy) was completely overstrained with 4 of 20 tables in the restaurant taken
- When we wanted to pay the (average) food and the room we were treated extremely rude and told to wait 10-15 min as they had no time now (see point above). Even heard the owner shouting and complaining in the kitchen. Eventually we felt like we had to be greatful to pay our food
Overall an okay option for one night but not more. For a little more you get better hotels even in Zermatt itself.
If you're traveling to the Matterhorn Paradise by car, you can't drive further than Randa. If you have to stop at Randa, stay at the Matterhorn Golf Hotel.
The parking is very reasonable, compare with the Matterhorn Terminal parking structure. Your equipment is safe in your car immediately in front of your Hotel. They have a deal with local taxis for inexpensive, efficient shuttles to/from Zermatt. You'll be at the Talstation before they open in the mornings, and won't have to rush back in the evenings. I've stayed in Zermatt, too, but the convenience of Randa is pursuasive, and this Hotel makes logistics painless.
The service is among the best I've ever experienced. Management is very adaptive and accomodating. Forget attention to service, I've seldom enjoyed the genuine concern for my travel arrangments and activities as I received here.
My favorite - breakfast. Oven fresh bread, with everything one needs or could want.
I will be back for more days Maurizio
Best cozy place to have quiet time in the laps of nature, like literally. And you have to try the chef's cuisine. You will totally enjoy it.
I like things simple. I came to the Matterhorn Golf Hotel as I need only a place to hang my hat after a long day of snowboarding the Swiss Alps(!)
I arrived at Randa via train and was at the right place at the right time, as the owner's wife was picking up her son, who was riding his bike (for all of two minutes she said, until he called mom to pick him up lol), so I got a ride to the hotel.
Everything was ready for me upon arrival and since dinner wouldn't be until 1900 (it was 1700 when I arrived) I asked for a sandwich. The chef delivered. A couple of glasses of Merlot later (Elena, the owner's wife, but who's the real owner here? told me it is Italian wine. I didn't know merlot is Italian. Or maybe it's just Italian merlot) and I'm one happy camper.
The room is quaint. It reminds me of a dorm room; I'm not going to sugar coat this. But, as I mentioned, I need only a place to sleep. Zermatt is a 20 minute train ride but after a day of traveling from Nürnberg I'm just going to relax and enjoy the awesomeness of my experience.
I feel well taken care of, and very satisfied. Can't wait to hit the slopes!
Unpleasant experience. Not very good value
Rude crew, asking for additional prices.
Great food, quiet village compared to Zermatt yet still easily accessible by car or train.
