I was very pleased with the room, service, customer service, and location. The only drawback was the construction which bothered me. I should have chosen a different hotel if I knew this hotel had construction on site. I was lucky I had a room far from the workers, but some mornings the noise was loud and I had to leave the hotel. I was on vacation and I wanted a quiet room.

The Hotel is superbly located, with good services, cleanliness and kindness of the staff. We believe it is important to emphasize that it is convenient to improve the comfort of the beds, since, to our judgment, they are too soft.

We arrived in Basel a few days before we embarked on a cruise. Tired and in need of a long nap, we found Hotel Victoria to be very comfortable. When we were ready to explore, we learned the hotel is conveniently located next to pubic transportation (train station and tram). The hotel is clean, the rooms are generous and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful. If we find ourselves in Basel again, we would definitely choose Hotel Victoria.

We found the Victoria a delightful hotel! Loved the art deco surroundings - our bathroom was stunning! Didn't eat in the hotel, neither breakfast or any other meal but enjoyed a few drinks in the bar; personally, we thought 27 CHF per person for breakfast a tad expensive! However, the view from our room was fascinating watching the continual flow of trams and buses; so many people moving around the city! Our room was spotlessly clean and kept that way throughout our stay. The reception staff, apart from one, were very professional and couldn't do enough to help; they could answer anything we asked. Our only criticism of the staff was when we arrived (14th September at approximately 21.30 - 22.00) the gentleman on duty was not the friendly, helpful person we expected; he was very abrupt, not particularly helpful and almost gave the impression he couldn't be bothered with us! However, this was all corrected the next day by the different gentleman on duty who was a delight! All in all, we would highly recommend the Victoria

Good Hotel very close to trains/busses/trams and in walking distance to the old town. I had a small, but very quite single bedroom. Breakfast very good.

This was another "ok" hotel experience. What you aren't told us that you don't stay in the main hotel but there is an adjoining wing called "la residence". The rooms were ok, a little tired with scrapes, knocks and chunks taken out of woodwork, but it was clean. The room had air conditioning via a portable unit rather than a built in unit. Unfortunately the first room I had the unit had leaked, they changed me with no fuss at all (can only assume it's not an unusual occurrence) The rooms were hot and the air-conditioning was so loud you couldn't have it on all the time let alone sleep with it on. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean.

Hotel Victoria was perfectly located by the train station, the staff was very helpful, the room lovely and the breakfast amazing..if I were in Basel again, I would definitely stay here.

Hotel Victoria was just outside the train station. Friendly staff. When we arrived at 11pm. They were so cheerful and friendly. We had a great room overlooking the train station. Very happy!!

Very good, service is excellent, staff very friendly, professional, helpful full of knowledge and advice if asked. Rooms are clean, large, neat, bath was excellent with large tub (dated is good to us). we fully expect to return as this is by far the most convenient hotel we have stayed at in basel, (4 thus-far)
