You could build a house after a few visits here. Amazing hardware store.
Good shop. All tools for a homeworker but check price: they aren't always the cheapest!
Big range of hardware and supplies at very competitive prices. Good selection of plants. Good advice (mainly French spoken). My favorite hardware stop.
I hired a drill for 1 day at 8 am for 40 CHF, then I hired a van. It took about 40 minutes to hire the van which meant I left the shop with the drill at 8:40. I return the next day at about 8:35 and it took about 15 minutes to be served. They claimed I was 50 minutes late and charge 30 CHF more!
Crazy! When I explain they didn't care and just repeated I was late. 70 CHF to hire a drill! Don't bother the rental service is a lot better at OBI!
Very good shop with a lot of items on stock and a big selection of goods in general.
Watchout for service prices - while goods are very competative, service prices are not at the same level (i.e. window installation, kitchen installation - I found window installer in Yverdon with 3× lower quote).
Very large assortment. Fair prices
Love this shop. Great stock and great staff to help out. They even go and find English speaking members if like me French is not good.
I love doing DIY and this Hornbach has EVERYTHING. I've bought shelving and had them cut to size onsite, bought my power tools for sanding, cutting and drilling. My apartment is light by some of the massive selection of lighting. When I say I'm going for '5 minutes' my wife knows it will be sometime next week before I'm back. The place is so large its always best to ask an employee for directions. Its a handyman's playground. Prices are more than reasonable so definitely worth the journey.
I reckon you could build a house from scratch just by shopping at Hornbach. Best place to get Xmas trees as well.
Big. Really big. Almost too big. And they offer a wide range of products and services.
