Diagrams and white ink never cease to make me happy. 🖤 . . . Want to learn calligraphy this spring? Registration is now open for my 8 week Level 1 class, Introduction to Copperplate. We’ll start from the very beginning, by getting acquainted with the tools, learning how to hold an oblique pen and how to form the basic strokes. You’ll learn the lowercase and uppercase alphabet and all about ligatures and spacing. I'm feeling festive today, now that pre-orders for these ornaments are up in the shop. I have several new laser cut designs this year and am now offering the option for custom ornaments! Each ornament was designed by hand with my calligraphy and then laser cut from maple wood. Made in Montreal, with lots of love. Photos by Lisa Renault Photographie.

* * * On a personal note starting when I was a newborn, my Aunt Alexia gave me a special Christmas ornament every year. She had a wonderful eye for unique designs, often handmade and personalized. I love unwrapping those little keepsakes each December, as we decorate our tree. And throughout the year, I regularly reflect on the even greater legacy she left behind. ✨

The countdown is on! In 3 days, I'll be boarding a plane for Utah for LetterWorks 2017! I've attended other calligraphy conferences in the past but this will be my first international conference. I'm thrilled to finally have the opportunity to study with Yves Leterme - I'll be taking his weeklong "Brush Fiesta" class.
I'll be posting regularly on Instagram throughout my time at the conference, and you can also follow #letterworks2017.
