One of my favorite coffee shops! Friendly staff, wifi, a few comfy chairs, accessible power outlets, tasty food and drinks, it has it all!
This is my absolute favourite coffee shop ! Fresh homemade food. Well crafted delicious drinks. Family run. Owners are such genuine people and really care about their customers and how their staff are treated. They remember customers names and remember their stories and just make everyone feel so loved. I love going in there to read, study or even grab their delicious sandwiches to go. Been going there for a few years now and I'm sad it's taken me so long to finally write a review. I would definitely recommend! :)
Your typical coffee shop, service was great. They also serve wraps, scones, bars, and cinnamon buns. I had a wrap it was very good, also had a cheese & ham scone was also very good. W I would definitely go back! Only issue is parking.
Definitely a great place for food and coffee; coffee is strong, hot and tastes great.
BUT if you're looking to work here as a barista, I highly suggest you look in another direction (own experience). Owners have no respect or appreciation for what the staff do there. Just a red flag.
Nice service and atmosphere. Excellent breakfast wraps! Wasn't expecting the guacamole which was really good too. Got a hot latte with almond milk, definitely more tart/bitter than I'd like (possibly burned the almond milk?)
Nice bright and convenient location. Great muffins and good coffee. Plugs available and free WiFi.
The staff here are great and the coffee is fantastic.
Really really good lattes
Just had a Milky Way. Good stuff.
Great food!! Everything is fresh and delicious
After having not gone to this Wired Monk location for quite a few months I started going there for lunch again - as of Feb 2017 the menu and style had changed quite a bit since my last visit in 2016, so I was worried about the quality, but the worry was not warranted.
Their espresso beverages are great and competitively priced with nearby coffee shops. In particular I recommend the Lethal Buzz - a dark, rich espresso based drink with dark chocolate mixed in, not overly sweet, nor burnt/bitter.
Their sandwiches are incredibly priced given the size and quality. All of them are made fresh, usually within the last few hours, with flavourful additions such as a whole-seed dijon mustard or fresh guacamole along with actual aged cheeses. You won't eat a sandwich here and think they skimped on any of the ingredients: thick, savoury cuts of meat, abundant tomatoes and onions, and big, thick slices of well-made bread are the standard. There is nowhere in Walnut Grove to get a better sandwich, especially for the price.
The cafe inside is quiet enough for conversation but at its busiest at lunch time. In spite of the very busy lunch rush, the owner and staff are friendly, conscientious, and take the time to give great customer service to everyone.
The location has outdoor seating (great for people watching in the summer), free Wifi, and lots of parking nearby. It's very close to the Sandman hotel which is great for travelers looking for a light meal. The only unfortunate change are the hours: previously the Wired Monk was open until 10 pm which made it a wonderful spot to meet up with friends or coworkers after dinner or a late work meeting. The Wired Monk now closes at 7 pm.
Great little coffee shop, with amazing customer service. Can't wait to be back in that area!
Good food and coffee/drinks. A bit pricey
Try the Lethal Buzz. It is a "sweeter" drink that you don't have to feel too guilty about. It doesn't come with milk in it, so for a black coffee drinker like me, it fits the bill when I want a treat.
It is great hot but even better cold. It does take a little longer to make, however if you ask the owner how the drink came to be, you will be treated to a nice story.
