All the refillable water stations were closed. There were no charging stations for electronics. I was asked to transfer my skincare products from a transparent cosmetics bag to a plastic bag. One bottle could not fit so they tossed it out but they did not even bother to rescan the new bag. They simply told me to leave. I have never encountered such incredibly rude airport staff before. I was just connecting through this airport and this did not make me want to come back to visit Vancouver.
Had to walk for 5 minutes with no trashcan in sight
Everyone that works there are not very friendly.
Definitely a bit smoky due to the wildfires burning in the US west coast states.
Clean, safe and still quiet due to the pandemic. Local flights are open.
I absolutely LOVE Vancouver International Airport! It is the best Airport that I have ever been to, and I have been to many! It is very open, modern and the arrivals area is very welcoming with stunning First Nations carvings and West Coast themes!
The airport is very nice to tourist, quick immigration, custom and baggage claim. Direction is always clear. However, shopping variety is but limited with really overpriced rate. Even if we want last minute shopping, still prefer do it outside.
Only flown form here once. Only had one good experience, so take this review with your salt over your food. The airport was clean and beautifully designed yet clean and extremely functional. I love the modern elements mingled with elements of the first peoples. Food selection was fantastic and prices reasonable. It is also very easy to get to but the parking is a tad chaotic.
Having flown quite a bit, I must say I'm blessed to live in a city that has what I think is the best airport in the world. Easy to access by transit, benches you can sleep on and the waterfalls are refreshing after a long flight. This is what airports should aspire to.
This airport is very clean. Everyone here was friendly and nice. There are a variety of different gift shops and quite a few places to get a bite to eat. There was even a small kids play area that I saw while I was waiting at my gate. The bathrooms are clean, which is always a bonus because some airports have filthy bathrooms. There was even a small spa for massages, manicures and pedicures. I enjoyed my stay in Vancouver and had was happy to see a clean and well organized airport.
Airport employees were very nice and there are a lot of shopping and eating options. The one thing that I would like to see is a mall-like directory showing/listing the shops and food options. They might exist but they were not prominent enough to notice. My family enjoyed our stopover here.
30+ people lined up at security check with only 1 of 8 lanes operating, employees were just walking around discussing about last night's fun.
Air Canada Lounge opens at 9 am, really??? Lady at desk prefers staring computer screen til time came up than to open up at least for people waiting outside standing to get seated.
Otherwise it's a nice clean comfy airport.
Having flown all over the world and going to many many airports I have to say this is my favourite. From the decorations to the beautiful waterfalls, creeks and natural sounds playing when you arrive from an international flight. This airport really is great
Great place to take a flight from. The staff are friendly and the transit is great. Don't bother trying to find power to charge anything prior to going through security. You won't find anything easily.
One of the most beautiful airport, lots of beautiful sculptures, clean.. If you are flying out, plan to come earlier to explore the airport. Wifi works really well here. Some gates have lots of outlets to charge your electronics. The Duty Free is more expensive unless they have a clearance. Know your prices before you buy make up or perfume. They do have some good size serums at a good price, until you open it up and realize the size is smaller but the packaging is the same.
