I was running behind for my boarding time due to an unforeseen circumstance - I arrived very slightly before boarding time, only to be told by a frantic woman working the desk that - not only had I missed my flight but that I wouldn't be able to get on the next, or maybe even one at all that day - again this is not being relayed in a calm manner, I would say panic is appropriate.
She went on to say that no I'd have to pay for a same day flight time change with would be "VERY EXPENSIVE", again zero professionalism, now I'm in a panic, I realize I wasn't early but this is all happening 40 minutes before my flight is due to take off.
She radios over determines if I "RUN" they can hold the plane. I haven't seen my parents in years and was hardly able to say goodbye to them, neither was my six year old son.
So all of this panic and frenzy to get to security and be told I literally had nothing to worry about the flight just landed and I had ample time, by two people who gave me the look to indicate that the woman I had dealt with was being insane.
Im fact when I got to my gate they hadn't even began boarding the on time plane.
I call my Mum she's not crying because she didn't get to see us off, my son is sad because he only got a quick hug to his Nana before we ran
Very very very disappointed at the unprofessionalism shown, surley I wasn't the only person to ever show up close to boarding time.response / report this review -

Great small airport. Fair charge for parking fee. Excellent security staff. Easy access for rental vehicle.

Our flight arrived in Nanaimo. Our rental car agent was easily accessed and you basically had to walk out the door to the parking lot. Easy, simple!

Great little airport. Quick through security and fast exits are great. Being able to bypass Vancouver for Calgary is beyond description.
Not surprisingly, no response to email requesting information from airport staff. Parking rates are ridiculous, particularly for gravel lots. Have had trouble in the past with CCs when trying to get parking tickets.response / report this review -

The airport is very clean and the flow throughout is great. The lineups at the checking counters can be long and disorganized at times. Parking is expensive!

This small airport has friendly volunteer guides, coffee, food, souvenirs, rental cars. Everything you might need, just nice and compact.

Nice little airport, we got a way better deal by flying into here, and then rented a car to drive to whatever else to see on the island.

Wasn't happy how security approached and did not suggest to stay in the building instead of leaving the grounds There should be a sign saying no Pokemon playing like they have at some Fire stations I biked out of my way for a fairly out of my way distance to socialize with my family member to be treated unfriendly -- no matter the reason businesses should welcome in people no matter their race or reason. They could have lost a potential customer with their (unwelcoming approach.) I might simply end up going out of my way elsewhere to use their airport system, etc.
