  Purely cool toned seasons can sometimes find it challenging to find a green that is cool enough. The one below looks great for True Summer.   I'm proud to say that as of this month, a portion of my business proceeds will be used to help support female entrepreneurs in developing countries through Kiva, a not-for-profit platform where individuals and business have the opportunity to assist developing businesses through micro-lending.   A beautiful Warm Autumn client. The Warm Autumn colouring is a mix of Autumn and Spring and it can carry Autumnal earthtones as well as Spring's bright and warm colours well, however the best colours will be mid-range colours that fall in between the two seasons. For this client, the best colours were within this "mid-range" Warm Palette (Autumn/Spring mix palette) with the True Autumn palette coming in a very close second. Her best personal colours were dark warm toffee brown, orange, warm green and bright warm red. #colouranalysis #personalcolouranalysis #warmautumn #uniquetoyoucolour

  Ever wondered how to maximize the amount of natural, colour-correct lighting in your home? Here are my top four lighting tips:

  1.) Choose full-spectrum lighting – Opt for light bulbs that are between 5000- 5500K with a colour rendering index (or CRI) of 90 or higher. 2.) Keep your entire space light- when it comes to lighting, no matter how good your light bulbs are, you will still want to optimize the amount of natural lighting coming into your space, and the best way to do this is to keep your walls and other surfaces (including your floors, furniture, window coverings etc), lighter whenever possible. Darker colours will tend to absorb more natural light in space, as well as reflect more colour on surface objects in the room, potentially leading to colour distortion. A neutral soft white wall colour is optimal for creating a colour-correct work space. 3.) Opt for clear glass light fixture coverings – Natural lighting can be altered when it is diffused through colored lampshades and coloured lamp coverings, so it’s best to keep these clear or light. 4.) Opt for diffused lighting – When it comes to bright daylight, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, especially where overly bright single source lighting is concerned. Instead of using one bright single daylight bulb to light your entire works space, opt for two or more moderately bright full-spectrum lights spaced throughout the room. A light source that is too bright and placed close to your work area will tend to tend to overexpose colours, and lead less accurate colour rendering.

  Clean simple lines paired with dramatic jewelry showcase a modern, fresh take on the True Autumn palette in fashion.   A common question that I receive from clients who are planning their wedding is how they should dress their bridal party. When the seasons of the bridal party members are not known, my usual recommendations is either teal or periwinkle. Both colours have predominately neutral undertone and tend to be more forgiving on a wider array of colouring types. Another idea is choosing mixed metallics for the dresses and giving the bridal party members an option of warm or cool toned metallics such as gold or silver (as shown below). It is a clever way to build a look around a common theme (metals) while still ensuing that everyone feels and looks great in what they are wearing. #weddingplanning #weddingcolourscheme #metallics #tealwedding #periwinklewedding

  I finally had my ‘Colours’ done. This was first brought to my attention back in High School (late 60’s) I didn’t have it done back then. It came back in popularity in the 80’s. I was too busy to pay attention. I had totally forgot about this process until I heard a comment ‘You look great in that Colour’ My hairdresser mentioned that when she feels down or tired she will pick out a certain colour top and it brightens her look and her spirit. Thinking I could use that boost, I started inquiring about the practice of Colour Analysis. I actually found someone in the area ‘Unique to You Color Analysis’
  
  I have no sense of colour what so ever. Jelena was wonderful and very thorough. She took her time with me switching from Winter to Summer to Spring to Autumn. Warms, Cools and Neutrals, swatch after swatch. Then eliminating some and reviewing again. Lots of second guessing and re-trying palates. After all was said and done I have a gorgeous “Customized Warm/Light Spring Colour Palette” to take home. Jelena had a room full of loose and mixed sheets of colourful material to sort and rearrange. I think I can speak for both of us that We were shocked at what time it was. I always felt comfortable and never felt rushed. It was an amazing learning experience.
  
  The palette did match a few items in my closet but I do need to do a bit of shopping!
  
  Thanks you Jelena for a wonderful and colourful session. So happy I found you.

  I had a great experience with the custom colour analysis done by Jelena (my fiance). I know my review will be looked upon as a biased review, but I did truly walk away with a better understanding of why certain clothes weren't working for me and why others did. I like having the palette that she carries in her purse for me when we go shopping, and it seems to speed up the whole process when you can hold the palette up to the clothes and see if that colour works before even trying it on. When I first heard about the colour analysis I thought it was mainly for women, but then after having it done I've realized it can be really helpful for guys too, whether someone is looking to spice up a suit by adding some colours with a tie or dress shirt, to even just casual clothes like t-shirts and hoodies. Personally I find it most useful with t-shirts, because I love to wear comfy clothes. Anyways the whole experience was an eye opener and I would recommend everyone having it done with Jelena, the custom palette is way better than standard seasonal pallets which are commonly sold. Thanks for the lesson and great experience Jelena!

  I had my colour analysis with Jelena yesterday and it was a great experience. She explained the process thoroughly and had a good sense of what would work best for me. The fan I was given had personalized colours and Jelena sent me information about the best way to wear my chosen season. I felt very confident in her decision of the season she chose for me. I had been to two other colour analysis and had felt that the results were not working. This time I feel certain I have the best result. Thank you Jelena!

  My colors were done by distance consult since I live rather far away ( maybe someday we will meet in person) . I am not a standard season and she was very patient with that. We sent a lot of pictures back and forth and talked about them online for several months. Then when we felt we had gathered enough material she went through and analyzed what we had liked, not liked, and why. She also sent me a bunch of material explaining all this. Now my palette has arrived and I am extremely happy with it. I really appreciate her attention to detail and commitment to find the complete right answer and not only a part of it! My palette is Clear and Light with a lot of neutrals and I love it!

  My experience with Jelena Heger provided me with a new found confidence and appreciation for the world of personalized colour theory draping. I have been draped twice before, but each time. I felt something or some part of the palette was ‘off’. Both precious times, I was draped as a ‘true autumn’, but Jelena saw what the others didn’t – I was in fact a WARM Autumn. When I met with Jelena, one of the first things that I noticed, is that she was genuinely interested in helping me find my best colours. She took the time to go over each and every drape from ‘all’ of the 16 seasons and really explained to me what was happening to my face as each colour was draped around me. The other analysts that I had seen, although leaning in the right autumn direction, didn’t provide me with the explanation I needed to understand my palette. Furthermore, Jelena ‘Customized’ my palette for me. There were a few shades from the true autumn palette that worked, but ALL the Warm Autumn shades worked. Jelena created a swatch fan for me that included ALL of my best shades. I really loved hearing Jelena’s amazing expertise, as she commented on each drape. I walked away understanding WHY the lighter, muted shades didn’t work and why true autumn didn’t work – it had too much grey/neutrality for me. I needed a medium contrast warmth, combined with the brighter autumn shades! It made so much sense to me why I was attracted to the sci-art warm spring palette – the bright warm greens and turquoise shades were some of my best and they were part of the Warm Autumn customized palette that Jelena made for me. I just wanted to personally thank Jelena for being so kind, authentic, truthful and helpful during the draping. If you live in or around Ontario (especially the GTA, Niagara or even if you’re near the Buffalo U.S./Canada Border), I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend going to see Jelena to get your colours done – she is truly amazing and a GIFTED colour analyst!!! Thank you once again Jelena!!!

  Jelena has been really helpful and her True Spring palette is so beutiful! Suits me really well. I did a online draping (she did my third) and as the other two I ended up Spring season. But she told me I need clear spring colors. That's probobly why I have been crossing over to winter in the past instead of autumn!?!
