I love the zoo. The exhibits here are amazing! I cannot believe how amazing each display looked, and best of all, my daughter, who at under 2 years old was absolutely floored by all of the absolutely stunning animals!

Sure, it was pouring rain on and off the entire time we were there, and we had a large group of people with us, and it was cold, and I would still go back in the same conditions! We still saw what we really wanted to see. Everyone that worked there was fantastic!

Amazing experience all year round. Expect loads of walking, but it is well laid out and the pavilions have a terrific mix of exotic creatures. This year has been especially good because of all the baby animals and the new science and animal health building is very cool see, especially if the staff are working with an animal at the time. Food can be expensive but the different areas organized by world region never disappoint.

I visited a week ago on a cold and rainy day, so it wasn't crowded. Most people were there for the pandas and they are very cute. Lots of information about them and volunteers at info booths before you get to the enclosure. Signage: keep the paper map handy because some areas aren't marked very well. Education: newer exhibits have a lot of info, older exhibits have very little. As a zoo, I think education is more important than entertainment value. Yes, it's interesting to see rhinos, penguins, and giraffes, but it's important to learn about them too. Otherwise, might as well go to a natural history museum. Time: I spent the whole day here and saw almost everything (except the Canadian area). You can probably visit 1-2 areas in half a day. Facilities: many washrooms and rest spots nearby every exhibit. Food: I went on the weekend and there weren't many choices. I'm glad I packed lunch. Overall: fascinating but needs an upgrade.

Loved it. We went on a Tuesday in the fall. It was nice and quiet. The landscaping is incredible. The animals all looked in such good condition and very happy in their habitats. We were fortunate to see all the animals and it was such a great experience. Loved all the builds with birds butterflies turtles and fish. Plus watching the big cats eat was awesome.

Amazing. The zoo is well maintained and there are a lot of beautiful animals that you may not have seen before. Totally worth the trip to the zoo. Yearly pass recommended as the zoo is huge so you do need to visit it multiple times to see the whole thing. On one of our trips one of our family was very ill and the zoo's security and medical staff were first class. Definitely a place to visit.

I don't know, that what is good about this zoo and why people are wasting their money and precious time there, it's very expensive first of all, their website shows +5000 animals but honestly there were around 20 animal and birds. Please don't waste your money and time in this Zoo. Shame on the people who run this in such advanced country with their poor and cheating services :(
This Zoo admission is very expensive. Not enough animals. I could see only two Lions, two good size Tigers, two Bears, two Rhinos and two Giraffes. Lion Safari in Guelph is much better place to go. I was lost. This Zoo does not have good direction sign. I had walked too much to find the right places. I will never go there.

I understand that many animals
are being helped at the zoo, animals who have been directly and negatively impacted by humans. This does not justify keeping those animals and birds that are healthy, in cages, and to rob them of their freedom. Animals are not alive for our entertainment. I found my visit to the Toronto Zoo incredibly sad and the attitudes of the people towards the state of the animals equally so.
Perhaps one day humans will evolve substantially and positively enough to perceive themselves as equals to other life forms on the planet, rather than a perceived superior being, that allows itself to take away the natural rights of others.

The Toronto Zoo is one of the best summer pass times in the city. Best enjoyed if you spend the whole day. Arrive early to avoid parking too far. The safari / Savannah atmosphere is great to experience with kids and adults alike. Animal displays are well kept. The reptilia exhibit is awesome. Recommend purchase the family year pass.

We are from Nebraska & comparing with Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo, this zoo comparably very small (size, layout & varieties of animals). Visited this zoo because of City passes. We realized not many zoo have panda exhibit so there's another reason to visit here however panda exhibit at Washington DC Zoo have more pandas on display than this zoo. Overall we wasn't impressed because we seen better zoo. Still a good place to hang around with your kids and have a nice outdoor family time. They have a nice splash pad too so when the weather is hot, prepare to bring extra clothes/towels.

So many animals - so little time! While I was present at the zoo for maybe 3 hours, I didn't have enough time to see all the different animals. We first started at the Giant Panda as they will no longer be in Toronto soon. We were very lucky to see the cubs and one of the adult pandas. THEY ARE SO CUTE (from afar). We then made our way to the Eurasia section of the zoo and saw the red panda (also cute), camels, a falcon, etc. I could go on for while about all the animals we saw in the span of 3 hours. Disclaimer - my family and I seem to take a longer time at each exhibit as I noticed that people come and go pretty quickly while we're still standing there in awe.

If you enjoy wildlife and love learning, definitely go to the zoo! Oh and be sure to wear shoes that are comfortable for walking - you'll be doing a lot of that.

We got here and most of the animals were not outside. I understand its still cold outside but it would have been cool if before walking 15 minutes to see an specific animal there was a warning. The giant pandas are beautiful.

One of the best zoos anywhere. For the most part the animals appear taken care of and in appropriate environments. Certainly there could be improvements but on the whole it's a good place. Recent changes have been good. We've been members for about 15 years. Always nice to visit.

Generally speaking all zoos are cruel when you think about it, but this one is a bit more responsible than others from what I have seen. Its a massive place, with a very diverse mix of animals. They try hard to replicate the animals ecosystems, but all the animals still look depressed. However the butterflies look very happy, they have lots of flowers. I guess they didn't pick the short straw. I really wish they would close the kids petting zoo and camel rides, both of those attractions are very unethical. I would like to exhibits that focus on educating people on animal experimentation, poaching, and loss of habitat. I really feel like this place could pull it of, they have the space and they have a lot of cool volunteers who could make that happen. The admission is a fair price, and their is a zoomobile for lazy bums. Decent food options, I believe you can bring your own lunch.

Love this place! Simply the best place to go when kids are bored. Zoo mobile ride are great and they are free when you have a season pass.
I took my child almost every weekend when he was two and three years old. So much to see to see and lots to do. And amazing programs, specially when Christmas comes kids get to take pics Santa and small stuff animal for very minimal fee.

I really love this place, really really love it. The indoor buildings are magnificent to walk around and sit in. You really are transported into wonderful fantasy like places here, although in the summer it is way too packed. In the winter a lot is closed though. Come very early because the place is massive and you will be walking very long distances. Wear running shoes or do not come. If you can't walk long distances, get a wheelchair, trust me or you may collapse somewhere along one of the long roads.
