  Do you know anyone looking to improve their English? The Multicultural Centre offers an informal ESL class 2 hours a week. In addition, our Settlement Counsellor, Chantal, has additional resources available to improve one's language skills.   Just a reminder that the Focus Groups are being held today at the Timmins Public Library Boardroom from 12;30 pm-1:30 pm and 2:00 pm- 3:00 pm by Dr. Brown and Dr. Armenakyan from the School of Business at Nipissing University in North Bay.

  The Focus Groups is gathering information pertaining to newcomers experiences and perspectives within the following areas:housing, community, and their neighborhood.

  Each participant will receive a $25.00 for his/her time.

  We are still looking for participants for focus groups on the experiences of recent immigrants in Timmins and nearby communities in terms of housing and neighborhoods. These focus groups are part of a study being conducted by Dr. Natalya Brown and Dr. Anahit Armenakyan from the School of Business at Nipissing University in North Bay.

  During the focus group, you will be asked to share your experiences in the housing market as well as your perspectives on your neighborhood and community. Each focus group should take approximately 1 hour. The focus groups will be taking place on October 11 at 12:30pm and 2pm in the Timmins Public Library Boardroom. To compensate you for your time, each focus group participant will receive $25. If you would like to participate in one of the focus groups, please contact Natalya at natalyab@nipissingu.ca and please indicate which focus group you will attend. We look forward to hearing from you!

  Hello, Did you migrate to Canada in the last 8 years? Did you move to Timmins or a nearby community within the last 5-6 years? If you answered yes to both questions, we would like to invite you to participate in a focus group on the experiences of recent immigrants in Timmins and nearby communities in terms of housing and neighbourhoods.
