I've been here a few times, but I'll base my review on my most recent visit. I decided to bring some friends from out of town to Red Wagon. They had both seen it featured on an older show from Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" and wanted to try it.
We got there at 8:45am on a Sunday morning. The doors opened and the crowd started to shuffle in. We got right to the front of the door and just missed the cutoff which meant a 30 minute wait before we got seated.
We ordered the Irish Bennie (with corned beef), the Pulled Pork Pancakes w/ JD syrup, and a Super Trucker so my buddies could get a little taste of everything. The pancakes are always a hit. Everyone loved those. The Bennie was good. The corned beef was tasty, but wasn't anything special. The Super Trucker came with a lot of stuff, but the pork belly stood out. Overall, the food is always consistently good, but pretty greasy, as others have mentioned.
The service was good. Our server came around often to refill our coffee and water and cleared plates away as we emptied them. The music is a pretty fun mix of old school tunes and kept at a good volume where it didn't interrupt with table conversation.
The Red Wagon is worth it if you can brave the wait. The food is good and the service is always friendly!response / report this review -

Ordered one of the plates that included the pancakes, bacon (or sausage) 2 eggs, bread and crispy cubed potatoes. Also added a side of the pulled pork. My friend and I shared this and couldn't finish it all. The pulled pork was tender, moist and flavoured well; eggs done just as we asked; fluffy pancakes and more than enough butter. Didn't try the syrup so not sure if it was maple or not. Great portions but there will be a lineup on Sundays to get in so be prepared to wait. Very much worth it though

Try to go during the week as the weekend rush is crazy! But that only speaks to how good the food is
Their breakfast BBQ fusion is what I love most about it having some delicious cornbread used for eggs Benedict? Yes please
Coffee could improve that's the only thing that I don't love about this place

Despite being told by friends that we'd be queuing for days, we got straight in at a seat to the bar. Got the all day breakfast which was lovely. Really good pancakes! I don't even like pancakes but these were all fluffy.

We went yesterday for Brunch. My wife & I shared the BBQ Beef Brisket & the Pork Belly. We also ordered a single blueberry pancake for dessert. Truly delicious food! The wait was very manageable. Only 25 min outside & the hostess was super nice giving us updates regularly. Everyone inside was very polite. Service was great! Can’t wait to go back!

They were on triple D and they're a dive - in a good way. Cute, no nonsense atmosphere. I liked it. Croque monsieur was unique but great. I'll go again!

Three stars for the food, minus one for the service.
This place has changed, and I am so sad about it. The first dozen times I went to the Red Wagon, all I did was dream about the next time I got to go back. Then there was a RW drought in my life, and when I went back, the lines were just as long but the food was, well, lackluster. It all _sounds_ good still, but the flavours aren't the same.
My sister ordered the breakfast bahn mi, while I ordered the soup. Both items were things we tasted and thought, "it's not bad, but it's not all that exciting, either." They're great ideas that need some work
On top of this, though, our server treated us like we were a major imposition—terse attitude, unhelpful advice when we had questions before ordering, glaring at me when I thought perhaps she hadn't heard me and I was trying to get her attention to ask for a condiment. I felt like I owed her an apology by halfway through my meal, but I hadn't asked for anything outrageous or been impolite so was at a loss for why she was so short with me. Maybe it was just a rough morning, but I don't go places that make me feel bad just for existing.response / report this review -

The minute the doors opened we could feel how well-organized and efficient they were. We were served promptly despite a long line-up of us all entering the restaurant at opening time. The menu, the servers and decor are unfussy and calm, and they serve high quality food with personality. Only downside: $3.00 for one slice of corn bread (which was their gluten free bread option).

Home-style menu. Unpretentious decor. Friendly staff. Free time-limited parking on Hasting. Reasonable price. Comfort food. That said, not sure if all of the above justify waiting for more than 1/2 hour.

Finally had the opportunity to check this place out and pretty glad I did. Avoided the line ups by going there late afternoon. Extra bonus as it was happy hour. Our server was attentive and happy.

Would give it a 3.5 but leaning to 4. Unfortunately, my home fries were lukewarm and kind of unappetizing. Otherwise, I thought that the BBQ brisket was passable but the jalapeno cornbread was quite delicious. The server was very friendly and answered all my questions regarding the menu (mostly why I'm leaning to a 4). Overall, it was a decent place for brunch. I would be willing to explore other options on their menu, however, it would not be my first choice compared to other places in Vancouver.

Though they were quiet busy we were seated fairly quickly. Service was attentive and what really stood out was the quality of the food - they definitely invest in higher welfare ingredients. My pancakes were fluffy and the bacon proper smokey. Will definitely go back to enjoy the rustic ambiance and delicious food!
