This museum does an excellent job of telling the story of Winnipeg and Manitoba, from pre-colonial times to modern day. I try to take people that have not yet bothered to check it out whenever I can.

Really just an awesome place to go learn all kinds of things about Canadian and Manitoban history. There are tons of shows each week in the planetarium and the kids science area is amazing for both adults and children alike. We had my brother's birthday there and it was an awesome experience. The staff was great and the kids had so much fun.

A perfect way to spend a couple of hours. The museum is perfectly laid out. The boat is spectacular. Very enjoyable time.

I've been to museums all around the world and I love this one! So many interesting and well done exhibits to go though. There are dinosaurs, attic life, information on the environment and human evolution and of course the ship you get to go explore inside the galleries! There are traveling exhibits that often visit to add even more variety. The exhibits are well maintained and immersive. The information on exhibits is easy to find and understand. Great for kids and curious adults! You will learn about Manitoba and have a fun time doing it.

Lots to see and do. Many aspects of Manitoba history and environment well represented in a wide variety of well maintained displays. Friendly, helpful staff. Big area for visitors to enjoy packed snacks. Note: parking in nearby lots (even on street) can get very expensiveconsider going on a stat holiday (except Christmas when closed) when street parking is free.

My kids love this place! So very educational and informative, even adults could learn a lot in this place. The fee is a little bit pricey but I learned that I goes to a good cause. Would recommend trying out all the venues.

A favourite from when I was a kid, back when it was still the Museum of Man and Nature. A must see when you visit the city. Classic exhibits merge with newer ones. A wonderful way to spend the day. Some areas are a bit dogeared, but for me it only contributes to my walk down memory lane.

Nice clean museum! Saw The moving dinosaur exhibit, nice to see good for kids but I think that it could have been bigger for adults. The museum itself is big especially if you look at all the exhibits and read the signs. A person could easily spend all day here, or a good portion of one.

I've always loved the museum and having the opportunity to introduce it to my son made me enjoy it even more. He's only two but he loved seeing the Nonsuch, playing in the Science Gallery (especially the electric racecars), and the Planetarium. Membership is a great deal and we'll be spending a lot of time there this year.

Old outdated and boring museum. The interior is at least 40 years old. I have been to it many times, about once every 3 years since 2005, and to this day, generally speaking, as a customer I cannot say they have done any upgrades to this outdated museum.
As far as exhibitions go, it could be improved with more nature exhibits or a gemology collection. Take example from the ROM.response / report this review -

This is a surprisingly good museum. It's quite large and there is a lot to see here, both natural history and Hudson's Bay Co. history (which is a big part of colonial Canadian history). Give yourself plenty of time to wander around and see all of the exhibits. One of my best memories of visiting Winnipeg as a kid is checking out the big sailing ship inside.

This was a great experience! The museum is arranged in such a way that you really have to pay attention to where you're going, or you might miss something awesome! Some people might find that annoying, but it made the trip an awesome adventure. A great addition is there's also volunteers throughout the place, just hiding out in random corners, ready to answer your questions and ensure you're getting the most out of your visit. The next time I go, I'm definitely getting the season pass. One time just isn't enough.

I bought a year pass for the family. It will be paid back in just 5 visits. The museum is great, lots of interesting things and well displayed articles relevant to Canada and Manitoba. The science gallery downstairs is a lot of fun too. But, I didn't actually buy the family pass so much for the exhibits as I did to have an indoor area my toddler can run around in and explore! It's the best and most affordable place, especially with a membership, to go and have an afternoon where your little one can exhaust themselves having a ton of fun, and learning things is an added bonus! We go a couple of times a week and by the end of a few hours we are all exhausted!
Parents who need something for their toddlers to do, I highly recommend buying a membership. You won't regret it.response / report this review
