Our final crew member for #MeetTheCrew is Tori Yuzik – Stage Manager and Lighting Designer Tori is thrilled to have the opportunity to spend another summer working at Souris Valley Theatre. She recently completed her Bachelor's Degree in Stage Management and Design at the University of Regina and she also holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina. She has worked as a stage manager and lighting designer at Souris Valley Theatre for the past two years and is happy to continue her involvement this year. Recent lighting design credits include Homecoming (Souris Valley Theatre, 2018), Making Treaty Four (First Nations University, 2017), Dogbarked (Souris Valley Theatre, 2017), Fitz Happens (Souris Valley Theatre, 2017), and 9 to 5 (Regina Lyric Musical Theatre, 2017). Recent stage management credits include Homecoming (Souris Valley Theatre, 2018), Hip Hop Hoop Dance (The Globe Theatre Shumiatcher Sandbox Series, 2018), Making Treaty Four (First Nations University, 2017), Dogbarked (Souris Valley Theatre, 2017), Fitz Happens (Souris Valley Theatre, 2017), and Bad Blood (Curtain Razors with University of Regina Theatre Department, 2017).

What an amazing run and world premier of "Pirate Heart"! Before we take our final bow we have more #MeetTheCrew Meet our amazing Technical Director and Set Designer - Catherine Bridge Catherine is excited to be back at Souris for her third season this time as Technical Director and Set and Costume designer for Pirate Heart. She has just completed a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Performance as a design major. Previous credits include: Design Assistant for Bone Cage, Scenic Painter for Antigone and Mort (University of Regina Shubox), as well as Scenic Designer and Scenic Painter for Springs Awakening (University of Regina mainstage). Other credits include: Scenic Painter for The Bellringer Der Glockner (short film). Scenic Painter/ Carpenter for Chickens, Volestead Blues, Fitz Happens, and Dog Barked. Scenic Painter, Carpenter, Set Designer and Costume Designer of Homecoming (Souris Valley Theatre). Assistant Scenic Painter for The Little Mermaid, A Christmas Carol, Around the World in 80 days, and Shrek the Musical (Globe Theatre).

#MeetTheCrew Meet Kaitlyn Semple – Costume Mistress Kaitlyn is an actor, singer, dancer, teacher, multi-instrumentalist and choreographer from Regina SK. Since completing her BFA in Acting from the University of Regina, she has trained with top professionals in Toronto with CBC's Triple Sensation, in Edmonton at the Banff/Citadel Professional Theatre Program, and in Regina with the Globe Theatre Conservatory. Acting credits include: The Little Mermaid; Us; Bittergirl; Mary Poppins; Johnny Cash: Ring of Fire; Man of La Mancha; Shout Sister; Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story; The Wizard of Oz; Jake and the Kid and Metamorphoses (Globe Theatre); It's A Wonderful Life, Little Women and Ring of Fire (Persephone Theatre); Root, Hog, or Die(Sandbox Series); Cope (Persephone Theatre Youth Series, Sandbox Series at The Globe, Live Five in Saskatoon); Cinderella and Steel Magnolias (Rubarb Productions); Mary Poppins (Western Canada Theatre and Persephone Theatre); Cash: Ring of Fire (Rainbow Stage); The Fan (Odyssey Theatre in Ottawa); As You Like It (Citadel Theatre); The Last Five Years (The Golden Apple Theatre); Alice In Wonderland and The Hockey Sweater (Sum Theatre). Kaitlyn is also a choreographer, having choreographed Bring It On, Legally Blonde, and Shrek at Sheldon Williams Collegiate, for Saskatchewan Express' 2013-2016 Casts, and Mine To Have, Peter and The Starcatcher, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol and The Drowning Girls for the Globe Theatre. #MeetTheCrew Meet Kent Allen – Fight Director Kent was born in Moose Jaw but spent many years in Weyburn. Kent now lives in Saskatoon, and is a veteran, award winning professional actor/director/fight choreographer, with 40 years of stage, film, television and radio experience. Some selected credits include; 'Condoville', 'Twelfth Night' Centaur Theatre, Montreal, 'Oleanna', Magnus Theatre, Thunder Bay, 'The Love List', Stage West, Calgary, 'Remember Me', Mayfield Dinner Theatre, Edmonton, 'Becky's New Car', Theatre North West, Prince George. Kent has appeared regularly with the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival, and has 36 appearances with Persephone Theatre. Kent can be seen in the upcoming production of 'The Thin Man', a co-production with Vertigo Theatre, Calgary, and Persephone Theatre.

Its the last day of Pirate Heart, but we can't forget to #MeetTheCrew Meet Ben Redant – Composer and Musical Director Ben Redant appreciates the privilege of spending his fifth season at Souris Valley Theatre. He has appeared previously as ‘Speed’ in The Odd Couple, ‘Fingers’ in The Volstead Blues, and served as the musical director and pianist for The Marvelous Wonderettes, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Chickens, and Fitz Happens. He has also appeared in the Globe Theatre’s Ring of Fire which toured Saskatchewan in 2016. When not appearing onstage, Ben teaches piano and voice lessons in Regina and plays bass and sings in the band Mother Night.

#MeetTheCrew Begins with our wonderfull director Caitlin Vancoughnett Caitlin is delighted to return to Souris Valley Theatre having performed here in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and The Marvelous Wonderettes. A Saskatoon-based theatre artist, Caitlin holds a BFA in Drama from the University of Saskatchewan. She has directed for the Short Cuts Festival and most recently the sci-fi comedy boom at Live Five. As an actor she has performed all over the province. #MeetTheCast continues this afternoon as we meet Mikael Steponchev – Seamus, Tourist Mikael Steponchev is delighted to be setting sail as a crew member aboard The Freedom! This will be Mikael's third summer returning to Souris Valley Theatre, and he could not be happier to be singing sea shanties with friends. With nearly two decades of private vocal training, Mikael holds a BFA Honors Degree in Drama from the University of Saskatchewan. He has had the good fortune to act with Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan, puppeteer with Wide Open Children's Theatre, and sing in numerous Saskatoon Summer Players productions. #MeetTheCast Day Three brings us David Playfair – Captain Morgan, Mr. White Here at Souris Valley Theatre, David appeared during the 2007 season as Leslie in the musical Chaps. Equally at home with oratorio, recital, concert, opera and musicals, during his 40-year performance career he has created more than 80 roles in theatres across Canada and the U.S. (numerous regional theatres, Toronto and touring companies of The Phantom of the Opera, the Charlottetown, Stratford and Shaw Festivals, and Broadway). A champion of new music, he has commissioned and premiered many new works by Canadian and American composers, including Jocelyn Morlock, Ian McAndrew, Lori Laitman, and Richard Pearson Thomas. Orchestras and chamber ensembles include the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Consort, Tafelmusik, and the Pendercki and St. Lawrence String Quartets. She is a graduate of the Globe Theatre Conservatory and studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. Miranda is an actor and singer based in Saskatoon.
