My wife planned an escape for us and it was excellent. The rooms are well thought-out and worth every penny.

The service was great at the hotel restaurant and bar. I did find the pricing a bit high so bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy the the tubs in your room and perhaps a few snacks and you'll be all set. :)

We expected more for almost $400 per night with all the fees and taxes. The customer service was sub-par, but the room was large and very nice. Our first morning we were awakened at 6:45am by loud thumping, which turned out to be an employee chopping wood outside our room. It was a task that had to be done, but the timing was inappropriately early. The breakfast service was very disappointing as well. The server was apathetic and disengaged to the point of seeming like we were in the way, even though there were only four tables being used and two servers. The meals took over 45 minutes to arrive, with no explanation nor apology; and when they arrived, the orders were mixed up. When we were leaving, the front desk clerk was similarly disengaged, and didn't even smile nor ask how our stay was. Overall, the place looked nice, but the customer service was so poor we won't recommend staying here.

The location is great with an amazing view over the ocean. The food is always great and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It is a little more expensive than most places but you certainly get the experience.

I have so many wonderful things to say about Sooke Harbour House!
My husband and I got married at the Totem site on August 5th with reception on the Potlatch room. Jess was fantastic at working with us and arranging the details of the day and making sure everything was as we hoped for plus more! She was of paramount importance to us and it was a perfect day because of her attentiveness. We are eternally grateful!

Our guests fell in love with the Harbour House and still haven't stopped taking about how Amazing the food was! Many stating they're unsure how to go back to eating 'regular' food since eating the Sooke Harbour House Chef's mouthwatering and to-die-for dishes! I would've loved the honour of meeting the chef who created our amazing wedding dinner, but got so wrapped up in the magic of the space and the evening I didn't get the chance.

My new husband and I just had afternoon tea today in the garden and it was such a beautiful setting and the fresh floral and mint teas from the garden were so wonderful, and again i cannot forget the amazing food!

Sooke Harbour House has won both of our hearts as well as those of all our friends and family who attended our big day! In fact my mom and step dad are already planning their next trip to the island with their stay and dining experiences at Sooke Harbour House.

We look forward to many more date nights, family gatherings, anniversaries and future vow-renewals at Sooke Harbour House!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We have stayed many times for the last 20 yrs. On our most recent stay we recognized that many services that we have enjoyed for all those years are no longer available under new management. The hotel has changed. We are not returning.

I love this place! Its is quaint, elegant and right on the ocean. The food is amazing,(we did the Sunday Brunch) the selection was exceptional, the cheese, meats and baked goods. They had a lovely Halibut and Risotto, roast chicken, salads! The list goes on! The rooms are beautiful with such a cozy cabin feel and such character. Not to mention the place is surrounded by beautiful gardens and flowers, and the interior is laced with all kinds of unique art for purchase.

Food was delicious and the service was thoughtful. Their overnight accommodations were romantic and even great for our little dog. We had a great stay.

Very nice room and staff. Would love to stay again. Beds could be a little more comfortable for the price you pay but the character makes up for it. Food was really good but expensive.

Rooms have lots of character, and one of the better meals I've ever had on Vancouver island, and maybe even in Canada. But you certainly pay for it😉

Went to the Cooper Room for lunch Tuesday - was superb. Room tastefully decorated, great views and excellent service. Food was top notch, I'm surprised they don't have a Michelin Star
