I've been going to side street for years, and continue to have Marissa as my hair stylist. She's greatly attentive to what I want, always does her best to do best for her clients and is a talent hair stylist, cut and colour. The environment is always friendly and I've enjoyed every visit to side street, and even more have loved every hair style Marissa had ever done for me. I'd never have anyone else touch my hair.

Marissa is one of the only hair dressers I trust with my hair. She does exactly what I ask her to do, and I trust her judgement if something I want might be too damaging. My hair has never been healthier! She is also super friendly and accommodating and THAT HEAD MASSAGE!!! I love everything about my experiences with Marissa and Side Street and 10/10 would recommend. Do your hair a favour and go see her!

I decided to give this place a shot. So i showed my hairdresser a photo of what i wanted, explained how my hair naturally sets, and how i part it. No further questions were asked by the hair dresser so i concluded they fully understood what i wanted. The hairdresser did not confirm length at any point and cut my hair 1.5 inches too short. As a result, the layers i requested (based on the photo) could not be achieved. The owner suggested "hair extensions" and "let it grow for three months".

An extremely basic skill is understanding what your clients want. Clearly, the hairdresser did not understand nor did they make any attempt to clarify or confirm. It is safe to say, I am quite displeased.

I got my hair done there for a work party and my hair dresser was very nice, professional and went above and beyond for me. The price was good and the place itself was gorgeous, done up for the holidays!

Parking is a bit tricky; the street is often full during normal hours and the driveway makes things a bit inconvenient if you have to move your car for someone else. The salon is pretty nice and the staff is great though, which makes up for it. Location is right downtown too.
