The Benefits of Aeration Aeration loosens soil that has been compacted by golfers walking over it and machines rolling over it. This opens up growing room for the roots and increases oxygen to the roots. The roots of the turfgrass thus can grow deeper, creating a healthier putting surface. it reduces or prevents the accumulation of excess thatch

Vertical cutting (or verticutting) is a method that bolsters the health of the turf and helps it to acquire nourishment more effectively and thoroughly.

If you don't hit it long but hit it straight, this is a great course. Narrow fairways and small greens, all in very good shape.
Only thing I didn't like is that there are a few holes with blind, over the hill shots off the tee where you can't see the group ahead, or your landing zone.response / report this review -

Had dinner last night in the newly updated restaurant. The new decor is bright and inviting. Food and service exceptional as usual. Naomi and Erin were working their magic in the kitchen. The "rustic bacon & potato soup" and the "coconut shrimp" were awesome!!

we drove up from Burlington and it was like a mini vacation.
loved the course and the quality of the fairways and greens.
excellent handling of a busy afternoon (tournament) by the marshals.

We had dinner from the Barrielicious menu and it was very good. The value was great; a three course meal for $30.00 The fireplace is a nice touch and it was a very nice atmosphere.

We planned our daughters wedding ceremony and reception at Settlers Ghost and the whole experience from start to finish was a great one!
The staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Laurie was fantastic from day one. She was easy to contact and quick with answers/responses.
On the day of the wedding, Laurie and her team made sure everything was set up as we had planned and the end result was perfect! The the day went exactly as we had planned. All details were taken care of.
The ceremony spot is beautiful overlooking the golf course and there are so many options for photos all around the course.
We are still hearing compliments from our guests as to how impressed they were with the venue and staff. I cannot forget to mention that the food was fantastic.
We would highly recommend Settlers Ghost if you are planning a wedding. you won't be disappointed!response / report this review -

Amazing!!! Just had our wedding there and they were absolutely amazing! Laurie is who we worked with to plan our wedding. She set up and took everything down. If it wasn't for her the day wouldn't of turned out as amazing as it was. She helped with everything. She got back to me so fast, sometimes within minutes. I couldn't of picked a better venue. The staff were all very friendly and never stopped. This will definitely be a venue i recommend for years to come! Thank you so much Laurie and Settler's Ghost!!! You made my day amazing!!!

Im not a golfer but we did visit the restaurant for our anniversary. Great staff and service loved the small settingnot loud and very cozy. Food was delicious and prices were in line. The tables for 2 are a bit small and you feel a cramped. But overall its a great place to dine .we will be back ! I wanted a 4.5 but it wouldnt let me .

My first time playing the Ghostand I've only started golfing this year.very nice beautiful but challenging course. Absolutely loved it �. I ll be back and I'll get btrand enjoy it even more. Scenery and setting is the most beautiful course I've seen in Canada. The long holes are abit challenging for newbiesbut the par 3s are nice. PS:great customer service �

I would have to agree with the other reviewer. The course was in fantastic shape but after my last round I won't be returning. The marshal accused my friends and I of bringing our own beer onto the course after we had just purchased them off the beer cart not 5 minutes before he came around. He held us up for 10 minutes arguing with me about it before going to ask the bar. When he came back to apologize he offered me a fist bump instead of a hand shake. I'm 30 years old but was treated like a teenager. I wrote an email to the general manager the next morning and never heard back. You get treated with more respect at some of the cheaper local courses.

Greens were fast and accurate. Narrow fairways require golfers to carefully select and hit the shots. Beautifully kept golf course. Worth the drive from Port Perry and today they were offering a special $30 for 18 holes per person that included the golf power cart.

We just had our wedding there last weekend. Not only did we think everything was amazing, every one of our guests commented saying how beautiful the golf course was, how amazing all the food was and how fantastic all the staff was! Can't say enough positive things about Laurie and the girls working. Huge thanks again for all their hard work! :)

Had a great round, I was advised that I might be pushed back a bit due to a tournament they were hosting but was out right on time. The course was in great shape even after the summer we've had this year. Staff is great. Worth the drive to play.

Friendly staff (pro shop and respectful maintenance crew), perfect price, manicured cuts, perfect pace of play. This course is a true championship 18. Hats off to management and the course for a great experience!

Beautiful course and very well maintained. Outstanding views to Blue Mountain. I was a guest of the ladies league and had a great day with such a friendly group; from the onset of our golf game to the amazing meal at the end of the day.

Had a wonderful retirement party last night for my husband. The first 18 were gorgeous and the 19th (roast beef dinner) was delish! Thanks to Amy Keith and the awesome staff (from the pro shop to the kitchen) for making this a memorable evening.

Come for the golf, stay for the food! That's the Ghost slogan and it sure is true. Awesome course, great service from the friendly staff and amazing food! Highly recommend a trip to the Ghost!
