This is a great park. The splash pad is the best in the area (it's not a cement floor, but the safe squishy foam instead, so not slippery and soft landings). The splash pad has a variety for really young and older kids alike. The playground is definitely geared towards younger kids. The beach is actually really nice in the summer and has a snack bar serving food and even beer/wine. New change room and bathroom facilities too. There's a new amphitheatre for shows in the summer and they are building new walkways to connect the dock.

Beautiful space with lots of benches to relax at. Great splash pad and playground with lots of room for the kids to run around. Nice waterfront view as well

Beautiful Park! We visit often and take a different path each time. A great place to see wildlife and go on an adventure with the entire family. Friendly ERCA employees are hard at work to keep it clean and repair damages made by destructive visitors.
*My only issue I have each time we go is watching the disrespect from other visitors! We've watched multiple Large families/ groups leave all their garbage behind including loose diapers all over the ground (within 10' of a trash can) after they finish enjoying their family picnics in the beautifully kept park as well as on the beach.
** PLEASE RESPECT OUR PLANET! IF YOU USE THE PARKS AND BEACHES PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR MESS AND PUT YOUR GARBAGE IN THE TRASH CANS PROVIDED THROUGHOUT THE PARK!! SIMPLE. Right?response / report this review -

A lovely spacious park to have a picnic with family and friends. Its big attractive splash pad is popular with young children. And if that's not your thing, it's steps away from the beach. You can play volleyball, splash in the water, and/or just hangout under the sun.

It's a good park to bring your family for a picnic and games. They are building a new stage and concert location which should make it attractive. I'm not too excited about the beach though, the water is better in other location such as rondeau park.

The perfect place for quiet romantic moments as well as family activities, memories and fun. The beach is moments away (this park is off the beach) and the park is shaded offering play equipment, a splash pad and bbq stands around for picnics. Wonderful. Well thought out and planned Leamington:)

The town has done a really good job making this park beautiful and very useful. The splash pad is great for younger kids. I'm glad the road has been widened because that was a safety issue in years past. Just don't go in mayfly season.

Love the large playground and the splash pad for my young children. Beach is fine to play in the sand, but the water is not usually safe for swimming (bacteria count). If you are going to the splash pad, sometimes it can be busy, so it might be useful to bring a folding chair and a shade item to stay out of the sun. You are not supposed to eat or drink in the splash pad area.

It's kind of sad.
Back in the 1980s, I discovered this beach by accident and immediately fell in love with it. It was, at the time, the closest thing to a California style beach within driving distance of Detroit (I'm an American). The perfect place for a poor college student to go to for a one day vacation away from the frantic pace of the big city. I would leave early on a Sunday, sometimes with friends, cross the bridge, get there by 9 AM and stay until sunset before going home sunburned and Sun buzzed. There was the break wall, the restaurant on the pier and no shortage of friendly people who didn't mind some Americans hanging out with them.
That was then.
Now the break wall is closed, the restaurant is gone and the beach is polluted with dead fish washing up. The crowds of people aren't there and who can blame them. It's sad that the city of Leamington and the province of Ontario let this happen. I might not frequent it as much now that I'm in my fifties but it would have been nice to seen that a place I had so much fun at as a kid would have been kept upresponse / report this review -

Nice spacious chill spots great facilities for the kids including a big water park great for swimming in the summer and to watch the sunset at evenings.
