Great spot to camp for a couple nights. It was kind of damp and misty but the tree canopy kept us dry. Nice walk down to the lake through a marshy area with boardwalk.

This used to be a great place for a day out. However they have taken away many trees and are trying to redone for a housing unit or resort. Another treasure disappears to our governments friends

Beautiful Provincial Park close to Vancouver. Hicks lake is a hidden gem. Great for swimming, boating and fishing.

So beautiful here. I go here to come to Hicks Lake. Superb swimming. Clean water and safe environment. Not a lot of people know about this place so while other Lakes are packed with people, this one remains tolerable with the amount of people

I feel fortunate to be able to experience the inevitable the cycle of life! November! The salmons come to the shore to die! Hundreds of them! The water in the lake is so clear! I can see the salmons swimming and struggling at the end of their life. The park is lovely and clean. Hardly anyone around now that it is only couple of weeks away from official winter. Still nice and peaceful to come here.

We stayed at the Hicks Lake campground which is fine and has not changed in years except for the price which continues to rise with no improvements. What is especially grating is that horrible unpaved road leading to Hicks and Deer Lakes, one would assume after all these years the provincial government would have the resources to pave the road.
Our second issue is the sani-dump which was out of order and according to the park ranger the problem is known but the incentive to repair the problem properly is absent, this is indicative of the attitude of the current provincial government, not willing to adequately invest in our provincial parks and campgrounds. Compared to U.S. state parks its embarrassing.

Would have given 5 stars but there were no Sasquach to be seen. Very disappointing and I may need to write the staff a strongly worded letter. A well groomed park, great for someone that wants picnic tables, groomed trails, and just a nice place to hang out.

Beautiful and peaceful park, with multiple lake side camping grounds and picnic areas. The park petrol that we interacted with was very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. The camping ground are private and separated nicely. The site is very clean and well maintained with washroom and water access. Wasn't too busy for a sunny Sunday which is a plus. We paid for one night but only stayed for the day and had a great time. The only downside is that its about a two hour drive from Vancouver, but worth the visit.
