I have been coming to the Rick and Gem store since I was a little girl and always look forward to admiring the shiny treasures and could count on buying a small trinket for under $10.The prices have now been increased by a significant amount, I am disappointed that it is no longer an affordable place to pick up a shiny find with the kids.

I bought a sterling silver ring with an ammolite stone a couple years back while visiting Banff. The ring was only worn on special occasions. The stone fell out and I sent the ring to a friend of mine who lives in Canada to have the stone replaced. I am trying to pay for a new stone and not looking for a freebie. My friend was told no and that she should just buy another ring. Very poor customer service.

This place is so cool to browse - but not much more than that. Too expensive for many but they have some REALLY cool fossils and rocks+gems to look at

The experience was horrible. We live in calgary and we go to banff quite often and everytime I go I always go direct to this store to buy some jelweries. I have a huge collection of jelweries. My newest necklace's lock is broken and it wasn't even month and half from the day of purchase, so I went on Saturday August 19 th 2017 around 8:15 to the store and I talked to the sales associate she was talking in a very rude way and told us I can't do anything because you don't have the receipt and there are another stores where sell these stones.I was shocked because it wasn't the answer I expected or even the way that should the sales associate should talk to the customers.I just wanted to fix it not even exchange it with a new one. but thanks to her that she gave us the idea that there are another stores where sell these stuff and next time I wont go there and I'll make sure everyone I know not going to this store

Such a big collection of rocks and gems, of all different types. Definitely worth stopping by, even if you don't buy.

My friend and I stopped by this store while visiting Banff for the day. What an amazing selection of stones, fossils, jewelry, and souvenirs! Surprisingly enough, there is something for every budget in this store. I found the silver jewelry was especially fairly priced, which is amazing in Banff.
We were helped by a wonderful clerk named Christian, who was very patient as we chose a few treasures to buy. We were also given information sheets on our purchases, which I though was a nice touch. Thanks again for your help, Christian!response / report this review -
